Overall Satisfaction with Miro
design collaboration for different projects, meeting presentation to client and for internal review, information gathering for different project and being able to view all information at the same time without having to open up files from file explorer individually, keeping track of different websites in a single location for product information
Pros
- keeping information organized
- visual representation of ideas
- collaborating virtually with team members
- presentation board organization
Cons
- sometimes boards start to go slow when too much information is on it
- pdf seems to be an issue - causes the boards to run slower
- would be nice to have the boards be a like indesign where we could apply a template so the boards we know are the same in a set for a presentation
- Saves time for looking up information that has been gathered. I'd say probably saves me at least 50% of time
- Two or more people can be putting together content at the same time. It's also a savings of 50% of time or more!
Yes, it has allowed the "work for home" culture to be much more viable for our design team. It's also nice that we can "tag" individuals where we left off so that if we're not working at the same time we are still able to let our team members know where we left off and what they need to review.
- Microsoft 365 and Trello
Microsoft also has a whiteboard, but it's not nearly as functional as Miro in terms of the different variety of graphics it can produce. It also runs slower much more quickly than Miro which is extremely frustrating. However, it's nice that there's not an additional subscription fee to use it since it is a part of the microsoft package. I've also used Trello for managing projects, which it does well, but it doesn't so project presentation boards like Miro can.
