Overall Satisfaction with Miro
I use Miro to create mood boards and project timelines to collaborate with fellow creatives and pitch ideas to supervisors. I use Miro as an all-in-one creative video project management solution. From ideation to storyboarding and shot listing through post-production, Miro allows me to stay organized and visit various project stages, all on the same board.
Pros
- Real-time collaboration - creating mood boards and project timelines with a team in real-time while talking over Teams/Discord.
- Creating shot lists with easily editable text and photos.
- Presentations and interactive project breakdowns using multiple frames and grouped objects.
Cons
- Better Pinterest integration so photos from Pinterest are easily viewable from pasted links.
- More flexibility to align with brand identity through allowing uploads of custom fonts and assets.
- Better integration with Google docs, so Google docs can be editable from within Miro.
- Increasing max count for tables.
- Improved collaboration and communication between project management and creative roles.
- Clearer understanding from supervisors on the creative process and idea development vs. other alternatives (Google Docs, canvas).
I've been able to collaborate with coworkers while in different states and brainstorm + create project timelines with ease. Miro has changed the way I work remotely and expedited new project timelines. I've felt a significant improvement in our productivity between meetings, as we can contribute to projects and build ideas much more intricately than platforms we were using before, such as Google Docs and Canva.
In my opinion, Miro has the right balance of functionality and simplicity. I've trained people on using Miro, and they've picked it up relatively quickly. It also has the functionality to achieve our goals. Canva's whiteboard tool has some nice stock assets but lacks some of Miro's project management features. Figma shares similiar functionality to Miro, however some of my coworkers have gotten overwhelmed with the abundance of features unrelated to their needs, such as the UI design features.
