Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro helps me think better. I'm a visual thinker, and there have been COUNTLESS times over the last 6 years that I've opened up Miro to get my brain out in a way that I can start to better understand what I'm thinking, what work I'm doing, how I should be thinking about something, etc. It's core to my daily life, both professionally and personally.

Pros

  • Quick brainstorming
  • Remote facilitation and workshops
  • User journey maps

Cons

  • I wish board thumbnails would auto-generate and not require me to choose a board area
  • Increased productivity
  • Increased collaboration
  • Saved money because fewer meetings
  • Saved costs because we're collaborating remotely and not in person
Make it work for you, then go from there. Don't try to make it fit someone's else's brain. Then, once you learn how to use the tool for you, explore templates to understand how others have put their brains into Miro. Explore, test out, and try them for yourself. From there, you begin to become a Miro expert.
I regularly send teams Miro boards. I've learned to store Miro docs in other Google Docs, Google Sheets, Pinned Slack conversations, etc., in order to make sure others know where stuff is.
I left Mural 6 years ago for Miro when Miro was still Realtime Board. The decision has rewarded itself time and time again. Mural lacks motivation, innovation, or product vision—Miro continues to impress me, surprise me, and meet me where I'm at.

Ever have ideas that are all over the place and you need to figure out themes between them? Quickly open a Miro board and use bulk mode to create tons of stickies to help you get your brain onto a canvas. Then organize and heatmap those into themes to understand what you're really thinking about. Prioritize, draw lines, organize, assign tasks, detail documentation, and more. All in one place.
