Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Since we work in a remote setup, Miro is used by our team in OKR plannings, Retrospective meetings, for ideation on new features, for documentation purposes (e.g. results of user surveys, visual representation of specific sets of pages at different times etc.) and many more.

Overall I also use Miro to simply "dump" information in various formats and shapes, because most other tools don't offer such flexibility.

Pros

  • Truly collaborative - many people can edit at the same time
  • Great features like voting, timer, plugs-ins for external tools
  • Easy to use because of many templates, also the AI tool can be helpful for some cases
  • No limits - space, format etc. it's like a space where you can dump pretty much anything

Cons

  • I find teams and spaces a bit confusing and struggle to find my boards sometimes. Would be great if search functionality would work across it all, when I specifically filter my boards.
  • Sometimes things want to be too smart - like when I am creating a diagram and it automatically wants to add connections between elements (or maybe I'm just being clumsy...)
  • Improved productivity
  • Better cross-team collaboration
  • Simplified workflows
Since the Corona times we cannot imagine the work without Miro anymore. I would even say that working with Miro remotely is better than working with a physical board in a real world, because on Miro multiple people can work at the same time, everyone can follow you when presenting something and smart features even save time! What's also great is that no further documentation is needed, which is usually the case with the physical board - someone has to collect post-its and document the outcome.
I used other diagramming tools in the past, like Lucidcharts, draw.io, Figma etc.
Miro sticks around because of its simplicity and a friendly userface. Because of that everyone in the company uses so it's easy to share with the rest. Other tools can be great too - like Figma is a very powerful tool but not everyone has access or knows how to use it well.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Fantastic tool for collaborative work in an online, remote setup.

When working from the office, it doesn't really replace a physical board and post-its in team meetings.
