Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro daily. My projects vary in domain but my objective is to create new business opportunities or build ventures for corporates. I lead client teams through various workshops using Miro, we capture customer interview notes and later cluster and synthesize our observations on the digital whiteboard. Miro has a low barrier to entry for new users and since our projects are ever-changing it is easy to make adjustments on the fly.

Pros

  • Easy to make changes
  • Great for collaboration and workshops
  • Easy to visualize information
  • Low barrier to entry for new users
  • Easy to repeat templates

Cons

  • The navigation between projects and boards can be tricky
  • It isn't the best for creating high fidelity visuals - such as a customer journey. At a certain point making changes on a complex board can be a burden
  • The UI changes all the time and I may look unprofessional when I can't locate a certain functionality
  • It has improved productivity for remote working as we are almost always with an international team.
  • I have been loving the talk track for explaining things when everyone cant be in the same room - saves my voice and the cognitive load of reading or following instructions
  • When it glitches or things are locked properly, it can create a headache of a mess for everyone - more preparation is required to avoid these circumstances
ALL of my projects are with remote workers GLOBALLY. It makes it possible and more fun to work together. I actually prefer the digital whiteboard to real sticky notes because I can come back to it again and again and remember what was discussed or see how we came to a certain conclusion. Timers and music make it more fun and I have been loving the stickers when when people drop fun images from the internet onto the board as well. Old boards can be used as a reference to new teams to see how things were done and areas for improvement on methods used.
so much better than anything free out there, more variety and functions. Have not tried figjam

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

It is perfect for workshops, collaborating, or showing low-fidelity visualizations. I use it often for note-taking boards or a sandbox playground for ideas. It is less appropriate for creating prototypes or high-end deliverables such as a slide presentation. I would choose a different tool for that. Great for collecting ideas from a team.
