Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

We use monday.com as a total business solution for our company's organizational needs. From scheduling and customer communication to a CRM and Production management tool. In the home improvement industry, it is important to stay organized with the many projects we can have in our queue to keep track of the schedule and communicate well with customers. What we like best is that monday.com is a single place for all our needs and is completely customizable to change with our business.

Pros

  • Adapts to business needs and changes

  • Can meet practically all a companies needs
  • Good for any department or facet of the business

Cons

  • automations and features can be difficult to create
  • when one thing doesn't work there can be a snow ball effect
  • It can be easy to over complicate work flows
  • Negative: Has required a lot of outside third party help for us to kick start or edit boards
  • Positive: The road we have been on gives me faith it will be the best solution when we get it dialed in.
  • Positive: I think it can help with complex business issues that will expedite things like sales follow up, speed to lead, and difficult scheduling
In my experience, it is simple as far as coding and automation go - We are a construction company and have figured out a lot of it for the most part. However, it does get to a place technically that we have had to spend a lot of money with consultants and 3rd party's to build out the more complex automation and integrations.
I don't believe the support is as good as it should be - they do have a lot of resources of videos and FAQs but when we need true help with complex issues we have had to goi outside of monday.com support. That is also because of how custom the software is and what a business is looking for in a solution like monday.com.
I think when set up properlly and when automation are correct then monday.com will work 100% perfectly. Its about finding the correct work flow for you business then organizing in a way that makes sense on a spreadsheet, or board and also putting together the proper automation that puts it all together.

We have a complex schedule where things move around a lot - it is great that we can have rules in place that when we move jobs things automatically push and fill. Some times it has been tricky to communicate with customers, some of the apps partnered with monday.com like twilio arent that great for communicating. It would be awesome if better partnerships emerge that will simplify certain things like automated communication.
