Overall Satisfaction with Notion

I’ve used Notion in 3 different ways across my organisations. 1. Replacement for google docs. Rather than making slide decks or putting down copy in docs —we created different spaces in Notion. 2. Company intranet. Notion had all the company docs in it for employees to read. All announcements were uploaded there. 3. Recruitment. Adding all the open roles in Notion and sharing links with the Internet to view and apply.

  • We spent time just tinkering the tool rather than getting work done
The core challenge is that the product is too flexible. You can do anything with Notion. This ideally sounds great but the problem with this is that you have to really dedicate time to set structures up. A person has to then spend hours weekly to keep the tool functional by updating things or fixing something another person mistakenly broke.
I didn’t select Notion over them. I picked Asana, Monday, and ClickUp over Notion everytime. They have better notifications, work smoothly, are easier to maintain, don’t need someone to spend hours to maintain.

I’m one of those folks who dont like Notion. I feel it’s cumbersome to use. It doesn’t help that the core product experience hasn’t improved in years—the company behind it is now focusing on launching new products. Use Notion if you want to gel in with a startup crowd. I feel that you should not use Notion if you want to get work done.
