Paycom is a huge timesaver
Overall Satisfaction with Paycom
We moved to Paycom from Ultipro (now UKG). The Ultipro system was not very intuitive and user friendly and there was a lot of manual changes that needed to be made in many areas of the program because the different modules didn't "talk to each other" We moved to Paycom to both save money and also found the program much more user friendly and time saving as information flows through all the different modules and makes data entry much easier as it is very "self driven" meaning it encourages the employee to enter most of their own information.
Pros
- The system is very effecient for the most part. From application to hire, the process is very seamless.
- Service is great. I like having a dedicated specialist that knows our business needs and how we use the system.
- They are constantly making enhancements to improve the technology and are receptive to feedback
Cons
- There are a few clunky processes still. (like the inability to edit email addresses in Applicant Tracking)
- They are behind on enabling texts and push notifications
- I would like to see more capability for the Employee Engagement platform. MyCom looks promising but is still new and needs some work.
- New Hires are much quicker. Onbaording a new employee used to take almost 2 weeks from start to finish. Most candidates on average now take about 5 days to complete.
- Payroll errors have significantly been reduced. In Ulti we had to manually import timesheets into the Payroll portion of the system so there was room for error as well as just added time. Now the whole process from start to finish is a few hours. And I love that the system is so intutive and does a lot of the "checking" on things that we used to have to manually review.
- Reporting is so much easier. Even building custom reports is a breeze.
Because information flows, it has significantly reduced the time to enter employee information and even job information. Once we set up the position and job, it's always there, and since we can add all the backend details to the job (supervisor, GL, location, etc) we don't have to constantly do that when we are onboarding.
We have setup notifications on a lot of processes saving a lot of time. For example, we have emails set to hire and term dates that automatically send new hire surveys to new staff 30 days after they start and we also send exit surveys to staff after they leave. We also have auto emails set to go to various departments when we rehire (like accounts payable, membership directors, etc) to notify them so they can take care of what they need to for a rehire which has saved so much time manually emailing everyone.
Over all it came down to functionality and price. ADP didn't come well reviewed by other [...]'s and Paylocity didn't seem as intuitive as Paycom. Our Paycom rep also took a lot of time with us, explaining things and showing us how the system would help us. We felt like she really understood our organization and how we would use the software.
