Overall Satisfaction with Paycom
We're using it for the full lifecycle of recruitment, payroll benefits, performance evaluations, learning management system, time and attendance, scheduling. I think we've brought just about everything that they had. We were paper-based and paper-driven, so this has allowed us to have a system where everything talks well. We had multiple systems and we were trying to get it to talk. Now this is one system where we have everything housed, so it has made some things more seamless for us. Again, we were paper, so we were doing performance evaluations on paper. This has allowed us to go to technology and use technology and we had some inaccuracies with our last payroll company. This has helped us to address those problems as well and get better customer service than we were receiving prior.
Pros
- I think that, so if we say on the payroll side, we like how employees are able to go and check their paychecks themselves by using Betty so they're able to approve their paycheck so that we know that not only did we have the manager approving their paychecks, but now the employee has bought in and approved their paycheck so that we have less errors when it is time to process payroll. That's one thing that we enjoy and it's user friendly on the user side, so they're able to go in and change their information, change their banking information, update their address, and really do things on their own, which is helpful. And it lessens the amount of time that we as practitioners have to do the mundane task of changing someone's address or changing their deductions or anything of that nature. So that has been helpful.
Cons
- We're still very new to it. Haven't explored everything with great depth, but what I will say is during the implementation process, we think that it could be laid out better with a project plan to give specific dates as to when something is supposed to be done with that dedicated person, customer care person that they have for you. And again, so because we're so new, I think that would be my biggest feedback with that.
- We're not completely sure. As I said, it's been a few months, but I like to say that the errors have been reduced. We haven't run numbers yet. It has reduced errors in regards to payroll. Individuals can see if their overtime wasn't put in correctly and so forth. So we're able to address that before having to cut double checks.
- Definitely saving time by allowing employees to be able to use that side of the app to do some of the things they needed.
The biggest thing is it's user friendly and it's one system and I was using multiple systems prior.
Less calls, less people coming into the office because they're able to do things on their own. Less errors when it comes to pay. As you know, that's one of the most important things to workers. They want to be paid for the work that they do. It has definitely decreased those errors and allow them to play an active role in making sure that their paycheck is correct, making sure that their time is right, making sure it's increased transparency, which is something we needed at the organizations and employees appreciate.
- BambooHR®, ADP Workforce Now and Epicor HCM (discontinued)
I've used BambooHR, which I loved, but they just didn't have a payroll side to it. I've used ADP, which I hate it, and wasn't interested in getting their HR side of it. We've used a product called Epicor, which it was mediocre at best. And those are the only products I'm familiar with. In regards to BambooHR, I think that so far my experience is that they're equal. The only downside for BambooHR was that they didn't have payroll, which is why we went to Paycom because they had the payroll in the HRIS system. But both were user-friendly, which is amazing when you're dealing with all level of staff.
