Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for HR and Payroll tasks. We also use the performance, expenses, and BSwift features.

Pros

  • The community page
  • Product Updates

Cons

  • customer service and follow up on working items
  • I can't connect with our account manager or another supervisor
  • No communication or help on big system changes
  • The system lacks in functionality - for example, we had to add BSwift for benefits
  • Reporting tools need improvement - could not run YTD totals
  • Service and response time is very slow, no updates on progress
  • No ability to test things on your own
  • Increased time on projects. Many calls to them to correct the same issue.
  • Increased costs/confusion on tax payments applied to employees. We had asked for it to be fixed. After much back and forth I finally was able to get it fixed.
  • Performance reviews were changed in the last few months. It made it to where supplemental items had to be attached. Before the feedback came through automatically. Now I have to print/save everything to PDF and attach it to the review. Sometimes we have 10 people giving feedback. The changes made don't seem like improvements just added work.
  • No matter how many time I have asked to talk to my account manager or someone to help assist me, I have not heard back. I have not heard from my account manager for 3 months now. Very unprofessional.
Processes in my opinion are not fully automated. No benefits really at this time.
These tools have been our favorite part. We do use the community page for sharing, staying up-to-date, etc.
Paylocity is much more behind in terms of functionality. It seems like the platform and layout are a great start and visually pleasing.

I have worked with several HR/Payroll services and I feel that Paylocity has been my least favorite experience. I have worked on several items and had no follow-up from the person working on it. At one point I had a representative say they were working on it and they would complete it, I had an email from another person saying they could not locate those notes. Then they said they would close the ticket. That was frustrating given that the issue had not been resolved and that is what I indicated. I would say overall the service has been poor. During the end of the year, we lost functionality for our hourly employees to clock in. Managers lost access to get into the system. They sent a message in the system and apologized for the issues but that was very impersonal. I'm not sure if it just a bad experience I'm having or if this is how they treat all clients.
