Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
Because our HR department is small but mighty, we needed an all-in-one solution to manage HRIS, payroll, LMS, and performance. Paylocity helped us go from three different systems that did not talk to one another to just the one system. Now a lot of the information flows from one end of the spectrum (recruiting and onboarding) through to the mid (timekeeping, payroll, performance management), all the way to the end (termination). Eventually we will be able to get our expenses on Paylocity, as well, ad eliminate yet another system for our end users (employees). The main benefit is less manual work for my HR team.
Pros
- The LMS is very easy to use, assign, and report on
- Customized reporting options to get exactly what I need from the HRIS
Cons
- The sales process was very misleading. What we were sold on does not exist as capabilities. Performance Management needs a LOT of upgrades.
- Payroll is not an easy process. There are still manual calculations and entries where there should not be. For example, PTO should automatically pop up as a "yes" or no" to payout upon term. Terms have top be manually added back in or done separately. They don't pull up automatically and process for the time they worked. Even our yucky PEO had these options.
- Timekeeping is not robust enough for our needs. We have routes that employees need to clock into, but there is no drop down selection when clocking in. Managers have to manually add it each week which is time consuming. They should just have to review and approve.
- Employees (front end) seem to like it. The app is user friendly. Back end users (HR and Accounting team) are struggling to find the same enthusiasm.
- Integration has been a nightmare. Almost 6 months in, and we are still manually sending terms to carriers for COBRA, etc. There is NO urgency on behalf of Paylocity.
- Service model needs help. It takes too long to get a response, IF we get a response.
I like that the time keeping piece integrates with payroll. I do not like that the PTO is not integrated. Payroll is more manual than our past provider. I spend way too much time in Paylocity when I should be doing those high value items, but our performance management piece in Paylocity is rudimentary. I expected a better product. I like that bSwift exists for benefits enrollment, but it has been a hot mess to get set up, corrected, and integrated with carriers. And now we're finding "ghost" changes that are occurring. Which no one seems to be able to explain.
None. We are too busy getting the basics corrected and working that we haven't even had a chance to get to these items. They're nice thoughts to have, but until the basics are good, they're back burner items.
The all in one system (not add-ons like ADP), integration capabilities (IF they can ever get them working), and the control over my data (TriNet held all control).
