Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for Payroll, timekeeping, COBRA, FSA, Employee Navigator coordination.

  • Paylocity saved us a great deal over the outside payroll service we had been using prior to switching. Additionally, we could bundle everything together with Paylocity, cut down on the errors made through the previous service, and we were able to take a lot of the payroll staff, as so much of Paylocity software is employee self service. They change their own demographics, taxes, dependents, banking, etc. All these changes take a lot off of the plate of the payroll staff.
There is no more hunting down people to find out when they went to lunch, why they didn't punch out, what happened. You receive a message of a missed punch and can address it right then with a message. Everything is automated very nicely. There are many ways to give positive feedback with the applications within Paylocity without even leaving your office to lift employees up. This has increased morale which has also proven to be solid for the company and the Paylocity software platform.
Again, it has brought the staff together more. They are able to show each other recognition. We, as managers are reminded of their birthdays and anniversaries and can send out messages about these that make people feel appreciated as if we remembered on our own!
There is no comparison at all. Paychex just has not come up with the advancements that Paylocity has.

Payroll is so simple and easy a monkey could do it.
I cannot think of any scenarios where it is less appropriate.

Using Paylocity

45 - Physicians, receptionists. Physician Assistants, Ultrasound techs, clerical staff, OR techs, medical assistants. Accounting, administrative duties, etc.
43 - Accounting processes, medical assistances, physicians and physician assistants. We also employ Ultrasound techs, Surgical technicians, administrative personal, Human resources and all aspects of Payroll.

I find Paylocity to be very user friendly, you can always talk to someone quickly when there is a question or issue to be resolved. The employees have very little issues which frees me up to do my work. I like how the employees upload their own documents and onboarding is so much easier for me. I love the integration with Employee Navigator so I do not have to think about when a new employee's benefits have to start coming out of their paycheck--it just happens.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - Paychex. Paychex made many mistakes with our payroll. Paylocity puts a lot of the work back in our hands while putting a lot of the responsibility on the employee unlike Paychex so it is a bit of a wash.

Cost, less chance of errors, ease of use, much more flexibility, and all the many things that Paylocity has to offer. It's much more than just a payroll software.
Not sure I would change it. We are happy right now with Paylocity and everything it offers.

Paylocity Support

9 times out of 10 support can get you squared around right away. There is that time once in a while when they have to ask a colleague for help, but that seldom happens. For the most part, they can help you at that moment, which is great.

There have been times, but I honestly cannot think of a specific one off the top of my head!

Using Paylocity

Paylocity is extremely easy to use. If you have any issues, it has help articles and you can even google certain topics. If you still cannot understand, Paylocity support is always there to help.

Paylocity Reliability

We have gone from a medium sized company to a larger company with no issues whatsoever with Paylocity being able to keep up or do what we need it to do for the size of our needs. In fact, it does more than we even use at this juncture.
Paylocity has near no outages. If it has any outages, it is for about 15-30 seconds. That is all we have ever experiences in the near 10 years we have been on the platform. This system does so much and we learn every day new things the system is able to do for us in management. It is phenomenal.
Reports load within seconds. The ease of finding information in the system is very nice. If for some reason you cannot get the info you need, you can either look it up in the help section or if time is of the essence, you may call the help desk and speak with a Paylocity representative immediately. You are never left alone. You never get a voicemail. You always get a live representative who can help you at that moment.
