Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We are an accounting practice and use Paylocity to process Payroll for multiple clients. Paylocity is our preferred Payroll provider. We especially like that we can have all clients under a company set, allowing us to move easily between clients. We migrated to Paylocity in early 2020, just before the pandemic hit. Paylocity was an invaluable resource during that time, with so many ever changing rules around Payroll taxes, credits and leave, we felt we made the right move at the right time. With any Payroll related law change, Paylocity publishes guidance to help employers navigate the rules. We have also appreciated their support team, who are always just a phone call or email away.
Pros
- Robust system features for complex Payroll situations
- Guidance for ever changing HR and tax rules
- Does all the heavy lifting for tax compliance
Cons
- Figuring out how to do something in the system for the first time can sometimes be unintuitive/hard to find.
- There is a disconnect with the service team for clients who are under a reseller agreement
- Would like more proactive communication from Paylocity when the dedicated service team changes.

We mainly use the HR & Payroll function. The integration of Time and Labor with Payroll has helped streamline the process for entering and approving hourly employees' hours and also for paid time off, by automatically pulling that data into the Payroll batch. This has saved time by avoiding having to use manual spreadsheets and keying in data.
These aren't features we have explored.
We like Paylocity best. Overall we've found Paylocity's system to be more intuitive, flexible and full featured than some of these other systems. We also like their high level of support Paylocity provides, and proactive publishing of guidance when rules change around compliance. We also find Paylocity's reporting features to be more robust.
