Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

My company uses Paylocity for onboarding, payroll, and now we have signed up for benefit administration for 2025.

Pros

  • Quick response time if we have questions
  • Easy to navigate
  • Very in-depth knowledge base

Cons

  • We have had several account manager changes and we are a unique company and having to get new people up to speed wastes a lot of time. I would like to have 1 assigned account manager and for that not to change.
  • Make Reports easier to create.
  • I would like the account manager to be able to handle all aspects of the account but if we want certain things added or changed, we get sent to different people. I understand that you are a very large company and it is probably good to have 1 team that does certain things. But, it would be nice if the account manager could handle more on the spot without having to send things off to other people.
  • Being able to have the employees update their own profiles is a time saver. Rather than the old days where employees had to turn in physical updates to HR and then HR had to update files. This puts the responsibility into the hands of the employees and saves so much HR time.
  • Onboarding is one of my favorite things about Paylocity. It saves a ton of paperwork and time. The Onboarding can be done by the employee at home before even starting on day 1 so that they can hit to door running rather than take a day to do paperwork.
I enjoy most of their automated things. Payroll I would not like that automatically automated. It might be great if everyone was salary. However, with employees being hourly and not clocking in and out all the time, when payroll is ran, there is missing time. I would like to have more control over payroll I think that a persons pay should never be messed with and not all automation is better.
Our employees don't utilize Paylocity except for clocking in and out. I think that the community and such areas can be improved to be more inviting. Maybe offering incentives for employees to go into those areas and utilize them.
I enjoy the ease of Paylocity. To me, Paycor individuals are way too pushy and Paychex seems very primitive compared to Paylocity.

I have found Paylocity easy to use and navigate. I was thrown into this spot and found the knowledge base very easy to navigate and it has answers to everything. The new AI is also very easy to use and quick with accurate responses.

Using Paylocity

68 - All employees use Paylocity to clock in and out for the day, to request time off. I use Paylocity to process payroll, complete new hires and terminations. I am a company administrator
I don't have anyone in house. I rely on email and AI to help me with Paylocity issues

Paylocity Support

Sometimes if our account manager is out, it takes days for someone to get back to us and then we have to explain our case over again. I feel like we backtrack a lot when it comes to support

I believe we have premium support but I am not sure. When we first started with Paylocity we were very small so we were in a different customer tier... then we acquired a company and now we are in another tier and the support is a little worse than before
Our account manager now tries hard to respond quickly and I do like her
