Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We utilize Paylocity for 3 separate company codes, 3 separate services. We have had issues with integration not working timely and when requesting these codes to mirror each other. They do not always mirror properly which requires us to make numerous calls as we discover things are not working or not communicating the way they should be.

Scheduling and attendance tracking is great with Paylocity. It has taken a great deal of manual tracking to a more automated process.
I think our employees enjoy the recognition and the managers appreciate the simplicity of being able to provide positive feedback and recognition at their fingertips without a great deal of effort.
User friendly.
Much better product and customer service than Paycor, which was a horrible experience. I truly like ADP and their product, but in engaging with ADP they were adamant that you had to use their products, and they were not open to using our established 401K provider and pay card provider. They did not get our business due to demanding that we only utilize the product offerings. Forcing us to use their products for an already excessive cost resulted in them not being considered in the future for our business.

Implementation was extremely painful. We informed our implementation specialist multiple times that the used balances of PTO were not being carried over from our prior payroll provider and were informed there was no need. We have now had 2 years of headaches with our PTO not accruing properly and we now have to calculate manually since Paylocity can not seemed to get this corrected. Horrible experience with PTO

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - Paycor - their customer service was subpar and their product delivery had issues. You could not get the same answer from different people in customer service. I could call 5 times and get 5 different answers, which none were correct.

Customer Service and implementation of product
I would be much more adamant during implementation that our implementation specialist corrected the PTO balances and entered them into Paylocity before we started accruing PTO within the system. This failure is still causing us issues 2 years later and we have to manually accrue our own PTO.

Paylocity Implementation

This could have been a better process. Our implementation specialist just refused to listen to our concerns about PTO balances. Argued that it was not necessary to bring those balances over and when we reached out to inform her that this has impacted us she informed us we were no longer in implementation and to contact customer service. Which has been no help with our PTO and we are now manually calculating this since Paylocity cannot seem to correct after 2 years of calls and requests.
Change management was minimal
  • PTO Accrual - not carrying over the used balances caused our accrual to go over the threshold
  • Integrations seemed to take forever to get going

Paylocity Support

Hit or miss on support. Sometimes it is great and I am able to get resolution immediately. Many times, they have to open a ticket, and I will have to wait weeks to get resolution and many times have to send reminder emails that I am still waiting on an answer.
