Overall Satisfaction with Planview Projectplace

We used Planview Projectplace for a bit of time looking for an alternative to some of the other project management and collaboration tools we used in our current workflow within our various teams. Microsoft Project, Asana, Microsoft Planner, are all comparable software with similar goals. Planview Projectplace is a suite of tools with high flexibility that allows your team to communicate efficiently and get stuff done!
  • Project Management
  • Collaboration
  • Portfolio Management
  • Gantt Charts
  • Better Integration with Microsoft suite of apps and user accounts
  • Custom Cells
  • User Interface
  • Reduced setup time with excellent templates
  • Historical data for lessons learned
  • Lost time due to a new structure that is less familiar to new learners

Do you think Planview ProjectPlace delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Planview ProjectPlace's feature set?

Yes

Did Planview ProjectPlace live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Planview ProjectPlace go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Planview ProjectPlace again?

Yes

I don't work very much with the support team directly, but the helpful user guides they provide have helped a lot of questions get answered before they would make it to the "support stage". I think good user training is the first step to providing an excellent user experience so what Planview Projectplace is doing here is the right call
As stated, a lot of teams have Microsoft Workflow, which has us in and out of the office suite and logging in with Microsoft user names. Having a suite of tools like Planview Projectplace does complicate this, as well as most users have never used this software before so the learning curve can be more than some users are used to.
Planview Projectplace and these other project management tools stack up in an honestly very similar way, most offer a similar suite of tools and helpful ways to track and plan all your projects and tasks. I think that Planview Projectplace ultimately has most of the great features you will find in most of its competitors, and I don't think most people will be dissatisfied.
I think for new and mid-size teams, this software is an excellent suite of tools for a project team. Collaboration and data tracking are very excellent. Through its integration with the other software many teams use (Microsoft) leaves some to be desired to the industry standard of Microsoft Project
