Overall Satisfaction with Qlik Sense

Currently, Qlik Sense is being used by the whole organization for reporting and analysing data like operation transaction, user behaviour etc. Qlik Sense Server is being set up and used for data that we have currently operationalized and have a data collection into data hub process in place. For new data or data from proof of concept projects, we normally explore them using Qlik Sense desktop. Although this may require some technical skills (simple data modeling, SQL) etc., we find that this is better than investing time and process to deploy to the Qlik Sense server without knowing how useful the planned dashboard will be.
  • Easy to set up; it's a one click install in Windows 10.
  • Furthermore, a project can be moved easily and can also be used in Qlik Sense server.
  • Desktop version requires less resources than server set up.
  • The desktop version is FREE for use!
  • Require some time to learn and pick up the how to.
  • Require some data modelling, SQL knowledge.
  • A mistake in modeling may result in wrong analytics.
  • For best results, a better spec'ed laptop may be required.
  • Despite virtualization, server set up still requires time and many steps like network access, etc.
Tableau is very similar to Qlik Sense albeit slightly more powerful. In the end, Qlik Sense wins because of the existing Qlikview infrastructure in place.
Qlik Sense is especially useful for use in proof of concept projects where concept of test early and fail early may not justify full infrastructure investment.
