Overall Satisfaction with Salesforce CMS

We use Salesforce CMS primarily for the sales team. As part of the prospecting flow, sales reps will add opportunity info into Salesforce CMS once an initial conversation has been had (not before). From there, we use Salesforce CMS to track prospect data, opportunity value, etc, and eventually will mark these as closed won or closed lost with notes.

Pros

  • Multi-contact account tracking
  • Sales pipeline tracking
  • reporting

Cons

  • In my opinion, too complex
  • I think it is difficult to find tools and settings
  • Helpful for pipeline management
  • Good for staying organized
  • Helpful for data continuity
Salesforce CMS does not seem to be designed with ease of use in mind. The platform is very robust, but with that comes a high level of complexity. I think users should expect to invest a significant amount of time in training/becoming proficient with the platform before feeling comfortable using it.
In my opinion, Salesforce CMS is the most complex of these offerings, and probably the most complex platform of its kind. It was selected by another stakeholder - I would likely have chosen something less expensive and more intuitive to use. The robust feature set is amazing, but makes the most sense for a team with a dedicated Salesforce admin on staff.

Do you think Salesforce CMS delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Salesforce CMS's feature set?

Yes

Did Salesforce CMS live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Salesforce CMS go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Salesforce CMS again?

No

In my opinion, Salesforce CMS is best suited to teams with a Salesforce expert on staff. In my experience, Salesforce CMS is too complex for the average person to just hop in and be able to manage right away - there's definitely a big time commitment to becoming proficient and to setting things up to fix your use case.
