Overall Satisfaction with Skype for Business (formerly Lync)

We use Skype to conduct a lot of our meetings with our partners abroad, where we can share screen/send files/text message all within this one application.

Pros

  • Crystal clear screen sharing.
  • File sharing that is not limited to images only.
  • Voice calls

Cons

  • mobile application can be improved to run on low end devices better
  • Skype makes it convenient for me to communicate with our partners/co workers whether it's via text or calls.
  • Sending files on the go, even through mobile.
  • Skype for Business helps in saving as it is integrated greatly with an Office 365 package. It allows conference calls, presentations, and document sharing.
  • Zoom
Each application/service has its pros and cons, but the biggest pro for me is how well the Skype mobile application is packed with features that you do not miss the PC version of the service.

Skype's best benefit would be that you could send a text link to everyone you are connected to, even though they are unavailable, so you can connect around your own time period with anybody and though you're not chatting in live.
