Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Slack is used just within my team. It allows the team to communicate on one platform for all the topics and projects that it attends to. It makes finding information on things discussed organized and easy to find. Having separate "chats" for particular topics keeps everyone on topic. Managing members is also easy, adding and removing them accordingly.
Pros
- Allows topics to be separated into different channels
- Has an easy way to find uploaded files
- Easy to onboard since most people are familiar with a chat style interface
Cons
- Speed could be better, especially for the web version
- Customization seems to be lacking to make it more personal
- Project times were reduced by better communication
- Projects were done quicker with better organization
- Projects were more accurate with records of details in one location
Slack holds up fairly well with the others. They all have the same basic features. Where they do differ is the execution. You can tell that for Teams and Discord, they had Slack in mind when they were designing their system. These two would be the closest to Slack, even in functionality. Google Chat would be the farthest and the most different from Slack. I think it's much less inuitive and less capable.
