Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop

I started using Splashtop in my company 4 years ago for work from home environment during COVID. It seemed like a good program to start with at a good price. Slowly after that, I realized I could do a lot more with it, and then I added more and more users from my company to use Splashtop. Eventually, we are all now using it for remote access, and it is very secure, too. Being an IT head, I needed to connect to users ' computers, and with the number of licenses we have, I found I can actually connect to all the computers in my organization because 1 license allows 10 computers to be connected. So, that solved our IT problem. I love Splashtop and never moving away from it.

Pros

  • Secure Remote Sessions. With all the policies we have on Splashtop portal, I can actually deploy a customized software based on my needs and security.
  • Connect up to 10 computers with 1 license. This is great because it saves a lot of money compared to other similar softwares.
  • Secured software with integrated antivirus option.

Cons

  • increase video refresh speed significantly, to reduce latency
  • Add VPN
  • Add GPO management
  • It has been positive so far in reducing our IT man hours.
  • ROI has been a few folds over 100% already.
  • Recent increase in latency has been a major complaint from our users.
I haven't had many support needs, but I had an instance where I needed help from the Splashtop tech team with integrating Splashtop into my server GPO, and I was unable to find a suitable solution.
Splashtop has overall exceeded our needs and provided us with a secure environment we can trust.
Actually, I did the onboarding myself, so it was a little rough in the beginning, but it got much smoother as I started using it more and more.

It could be used for a free User login interface. Device hardware dependency is still a big issue and expense for most organizations, so a virtual session would benefit in saving costs. However, maintaining security is still a big priority. Using a conference device /computer to log into your workstation is a major feature, where I do not expect to have all the users with a license.
