Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise

Accessing the data monitoring system of a remote test unit Changing parameters of the controller Controlling the remote camera.

Pros

  • Connects quickly to the remote computer
  • Allow to access the remote PC almost in the same way as being physically present
  • Allows to access the remote unit simultaneously form two different locations

Cons

  • In the beginning the login process required several steps. Resolved now
  • Rarely the precision of the mouse is not sufficient for small icons
  • iPad connection works, but is only suitable to check the remote unit. Selecting the remote functions or editing is prone to mistakes, due to insufficient resolution. Could be improves
  • The product selection was not easy and we selected the wrong configuration first. The support from splasteam was good however. The setup procedure was rather complex and required help from Splashtop. Some competitors do that better. Since we established the correct setup no problems have been encountered and we do not know if the setup process has been improved
  • In earlier version we suffered occasionally from picture doubling. In the meantime this has been obviously solved
  • The function provided by Splashtop does what we need at substantially lower cost compared to the "industry standard"
  • Splashtop is an integral part of a R&D Project. Without Splashtop we would have to use another much more expensive product to allow for remote control
We have never used Splashtop as support tool so we can not comment.
Fortunately we have had any issues with security so we can not make any statement regarding the safety features.
The selection of the right product and configuration, how to establish the connection was rather confusing (late 2020) and required several requests to the support team. They support team was helpful
Yes - Teamviewer. Functionality very good, setup procedure excellent. Very high price

Our application requires fast and reliable connection from different location to a local PC which controls the test unit (Data and Control monitoring, Security camera). We have not experiences any significant problems and several updates gradually improved the performance
