Overall Satisfaction with Squarespace
Our team uses Squarespace predominantly to create a variety of landing and squeeze pages for marketing messaging and engagement. We use different forms of advertising to drive people to these pages and manage everything with UTM codes and sort through the data with Squarespace's built-in analytics and also incorporate Google Analytics.
Pros
- Quick creation of pages through a drag-and-drop interface
- Copying of pages to quickly duplicate ideas and themes
- Creation of online forms with storage on Squarespace AND 3rd party products like Google Drive.
- Inclusion of video very easily into a page to enhance user experience
Cons
- If a number of folders/containers are created for themed pages, sometimes the drag/drop functionality of putting new pages in order of dragging them into a container does not work.
- Sometimes the style/theme functionality limits the potential to do things 'outside the box'
- Occasionally, when using 3rd party connectivity for certain storage tasks, the connection will be lost and the data does not get stored.
- Squarespace has increased our engagement through landing pages significantly over the years. When we began incorporating Squarespace into our marketing in 2021 (3 years prior to this review) our 'landing page game' was pretty bad. No tracking, no visibility to engagement, etc. We now use Squarespace almost exclusively for non-indexed landing pages, and we get hundreds of leads per month that we most likely would not have gotten using our old system.
- The analytics both incorporated into Squarespace and through our Google Analytics integration have given us great insight into what is actually happening with the effectiveness of our advertising, and has helped us streamline our messaging.
- The ability to easily bring video onto our landing pages has been a game-changer. We don't have to rely on a 3rd party like YouTube, but rather can upload our video directly, then manipulate their presentation on the page. It's a great feature!
- Using the graphic design 'Lightbox' feature has been such a time saver. We simply upload a graphic and select 'Lightbox' in the design and Squarespace does the rest! Game changer...
Squarespace if much less work than WordPress, plus hosting and security are not an issue. GoDaddy and Wix are okay, but nowhere near the flexibility or advanced feature set that you can get with Squarespace. Compared to the other products that I have used, Squarespace definitely offers more options, customization, advanced features and design options than others, for a great price.
