Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
TeamViewer is used across our entire business and provides us a convenient way to access either remote PCs (ours) or offer technical support and back up to clients by remotely accessing their PCs to fix issues or to remotely train clients in the use of software solutions that we have implemented on their behalf. Using TeamViewer means that we avoid costly call-outs to site for service that would only require access to the clients PC.
- Remote sessions are quick to respond with very little delay.
- File transfers are easy and quick.
- The mobile client is very useful for on the road support.
- The remote audio feature is very handy for us when troubleshooting audio problems on remote desktops.
- TeamViewer is considered to be a low security option by many IT departments that we work with, they tend to prefer using the windows remote desktop.
- TeamViewer is very pricey.
- Older versions on remote machines need to be updated before a remote session can be established.
- As a technical support supplier, TeamViewer has decreased our travel costs to client locations.
- TeamViewers device offline alert means that we can respond to possible problems on client sites before the problem is reported to us by the client. This is of great added value to our support clients.
- LogMeIn Pro and Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCMan)
We tested LogMeIn, but due to TeamViewer being the de-facto standard for remote management we choose this.
We felt that TeamViewer would be more readily accepted by IT departments over LogMeIn, this is the main reason that we did not choose to use LogMeIn.
As for Microsoft Remote Desktop, we find this is more work to get set up and this meant that we weren't able to respond as quickly for clients that we didn't already have remote access set up.
