Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
I use TeamViewer for employees that need to work remotely for long periods of time. In addition, I can use TeamViewer to remotely troubleshoot user machines.
- TeamViewer does a great job reliably connecting.
- The connection is stable and secure.
- TeamViewer does a great job with the remote control GUI.
- The GUI is minimal and not distracting.
- The GUI speed is robust as well.
- I like the connection monitor. I can see, at a glance, which machines are online and can be connected to.
- A few years back, TeamViewer moved to an annual subscription. At the annual price-point, I feel the ROI is reduced.
- I still have an old perpetual license. TeamViewer makes it difficult to use by not allowing it to connect to machines that have the new client software.
- TeamViewer can improve upon making their downloads less cumbersome. Their download portal points to their annual subscription software.
- TeamViewer has certainly saved many hour of labor. Being able to reach remote machines, without travel, is a huge plus.
- I feel ROI is reduced with the annual subscription based license.
- Before, I budgeted for a single perpetual license purchase. Now it is an annual reoccurring cost.
I have used RemotePC. The controls did not seem as solid and refined as TeamViewer. From a budgetary prospective, RemotePC is way less expensive. However, TeamViewer seemed to have a more solid connection with fewer artifacts when transitioning between open windows. RemotePC is certainly more affordable, but TeamViewer seems more robust and operates with less frustration.
Do you think TeamViewer delivers good value for the price?
No
Are you happy with TeamViewer's feature set?
Yes
Did TeamViewer live up to sales and marketing promises?
Yes
Did implementation of TeamViewer go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy TeamViewer again?
No
I have only used direct download and installation. Since I do not have a large user group, It was easy enough to deploy with each machine being in the office. I use TeamViewer to troubleshoot problems and train employees remotely. Those functions were very easy to accomplish with TeamViewer's feature set.
I have only used the single sign-on and two factor authentication. Judging by other software packages that I have used, these security features don't seem anymore advanced or less comprehensive from what I have experienced elsewhere. I know the secured remote connection is best in class for privacy concerns. The additional security features are not needed for the type work I perform.
