Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

We are a small business and we utilize TriNet as our payroll and benefits provider. The business problems TriNet addresses and does the heavy lifting for us is in compliance, both with payroll and benefits. With every state having different leaves available, plus the interaction between state and federal leave, TriNet helps us maintain our compliance with those. We do not need a dedicated payroll headcount because we have TriNet to take care of all the state and local tax set ups and compliance, as well as the reporting to all of the states and the federal government. The are also our first resource when a question comes up from employees.

  • TriNet has enabled us to reallocate time from maintenance in HR to focus on strategy and the future.
Especially compared to when we started with TriNet, the user interface has improved tenfold. The reporting tool has also been significantly improved. The case management system has also been really great in regard to communication with TriNet and our payroll representative. They are always striving to improve the usability, which is important.
On the administrative side, support has been highly dependent on the person in the role. Our HR contact has always been the same, and he is very competent and communicative. We are in a much better situation with our payroll admin contact. The person in the role now is much better at communication and working with us instead of telling us "That's just how it is" or making us feel stupid for asking questions in the first place. On the employee-facing side, sometimes the front-line support is not yet trained or doesn't actually know what they are talking about. The introduction of the chat feature has been great because the wait times for the phone center have been horrific at times, only to be given conflicting information.
We use ClearCompany for performance management and as our ATS. At the time, we were looking to add an ATS, TriNet's system was just not as flexible and was not as advanced as ClearCompany's system. Same with performance management. We are able to do a lot more with a lot more in ClearCompany than we were able to do with the TriNet system.

Whenever there is an important issue, TriNet is available and willing to help. This includes payroll emergencies, employee relations emergencies (when there are different policy aspects to consider), and their user interface is easy to use by our employees.
