Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

We use UltiPro for our HR & Payroll system. We use several different modules in addition to core including UltiPro Time and Attendance, Performance Management, Recruiting, Business Intelligence, Manager Self-Service, Employee Self-Service, Open Enrollment, Life Events and more.

We use is company wide.

It has helped us take our HR department completely paperless. Our benefits process is completely paperless. It has made our department more efficient and enabled us to keep our data accurate and up to date.
  • Ultipro support is incredible. They are always very helpful and they contact me very quickly after I submit a request.
  • Their product development is always moving at the speed of lightening. They are continually coming out with new solutions for us and developing their current products as well.
  • They make their web portal extremely easy to use as an administrator. Everything is exactly where I think it should be.
  • I would like to see more and more pages opened up for platform configuration.
  • I would like to see more development of the UTA reporting product and mapping into Cognos for Core rather than having to report on UTA data from UTA Cognos.
  • I would like the scheduled reporting feature in UTA to be more reliable.
  • In Performance Management, I would like the ability as an Administrator to add additional contributors for managers and send the reviews to the employees.
  • In Performance Management, I would like the ability as an Administrator to enter review comments for a an Additional Contributor if they for some reason can't get to it.
  • Costs savings
  • Time savings
  • Consolidating HR administration under a single solution
  • Security and peace of mind
We have achieved all of these outcomes and continue to deepen our use of Ultipro.
Workday seems like it is a one stop provider for multiple different systems and we could combine our HR system, finance, and multiple others that we use. We really value our relationship with Ultimate Software and trust they they will get there soon.
UltiPro is a great product for companies who are tech savvy. Our law firm is a little less tech savvy than most companies so we have had to overcome a few hurdles, which requires extra support from HR for our users.

Upgrading UltiPro

Yes - Any time we have gone through a new release, it has gone very smoothly. Ultimate Software puts out very detailed release notes so we stay completely up to date on all changes coming through with a new release. They always let us know very well in advance of a new release so that we can prepare and work around their schedule. The releases are always applied in the early morning hours (between 3a and 5a) when no one is using the system and they are always done when they say they are going to be done.
  • Updates to the mobile app have given us great functionality from an administrative standpoint.
  • Better administrative functionality with the performance management system.
  • Improvements to the document upload section of the system.

UltiPro Training

I think the product, from a user standpoint, could be used without training. It's pretty intuitive. Using it as an administrator would be difficult if there were no training available. I can't imagine coming into the product and trying to set it up with no training. Just checking paystubs and enrolling in benefits can be done with no training.
  • Online training
  • In-person training
  • Self-taught
The training provided is very thorough and is available in abundance. They have a lot of different ways to learn as well. You can do in person training, web training, look at job aids, read message boards or look at white papers. They offer a multitude of webinars to keep you up to date on everything going on.
I have done limited in person training, but all that I have done has been top notch. The facilities are excellent and the materials they provided were very thorough. The instructors were engaging and explained the material well. They worked hard to match their instruction to the pace of learning of the class attendees, speeding up or slowing down when necessary.

Using UltiPro

1495 - Attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, general office support and administrative workers.
3 - All you really need to know to support Ultipro at the most basic level is how to type and how to use the internet. It is very simple. The deeper you get into the configuration and system admin features (I am the only one that supports Ulitpro on the deeper level), the more you need to know the system, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist.
  • payroll
  • reviews
  • open enrollment and life events
  • managing personnel changes
  • online personnel files
  • We use the documents tab in the Web portal for an online personnel file. Being able to lock down security to certain documents by document category and role is a definite plus and allows us to let certain roles see different types of documents and lets employees look up the information on their employment that they may be interested in referencing, such as 401(k) loan amortization schedules and offer letters.
  • We use BI to send out daily personnel change reports written off of the audit tables to notify different departments of personnel changes they need to be aware of.
  • I would like to use the platform configuration tool to make new hire entry easier using the value rules engine .
  • We will be implementing Onboarding in the next few weeks.
  • I want to start using BI Dashboards to provide interactive reports for our managers.
We love the product and Ultimate is a great company to work with.

Evaluating UltiPro and Competitors

Yes - We replaced ADP with Ultipro. Ultipro offered a product that merged the HR system and the payroll system for streamlined information sharing and updating. It offered an ease of data entry that we didn't have before and offered an online timesheets which we didn't utilize before we had UltiPro.
  • Price
  • Product Usability
Price was probably the most important factor. We were looking for a system that would allow us to move ahead in technology, but wouldn't break the bank. UltiPro was a good option for that.
I was not involved in the evaluation and selection process when we adopted UltiPro. I have nothing to add on this particular question.
