Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

We use UserTesting in early stage discovery to understand user pain points, as well as multiple times throughout the design phase to test prototypes and IA structures. This helps us de-risk our roadmap, engage with customers and get real feedback early, and ensure we are solving the right problems so we don't have to redo work

Pros

  • Panel Management for both own and public panel
  • Multiple methods to engage users with
  • Easy screening process to ensure only relevant participants make through to a study

Cons

  • Would love to see more repository features to enable cross-linking and easy searching
  • No current mechanism on keeping the panel warm, especially engaging our customers who haven't yet completed a research study
  • More insights analysis tools to help us speed up this part of the process, particularly with moderated interviews
  • De-risking the roadmap
  • Increased NPS score
  • Saved development costs from rework
The team are great at regular catchups when it comes to outlining new features and how we can get the most out of UserTesting. The Power Sessions have been really helpful in giving advice on our research approaches and plans and going through the study screener. Live chat in the product is really quick in getting back to us.
It's really easy to set up a study and get it filled pretty quickly. Panel management is quite easy and we leave it open all year, which enables us to grow our panel without any effort. Tagging results and creating clips are really easy, and very helpful for us to share around the business of what our customers are saying.
We've benefitted greatly from being able to create a mixed panel, and hear from customers we hadn't heard from before. Recruiting customers for research studies can be tedious but UserTesting has made that very easy. Hearing from a wide range of customers has enabled us to design solutions which benefit the masses, and not just one group of users.

I'd recommend UserTesting if you want customers to have an input on your roadmap, you want a recording and transcript of all research sessions stored in the cloud, want to host a panel in a system (much easier than manually recruiting and maintaining using a spreadsheet), and want to be able to quickly fill research sessions.
