WatchGuard AuthPoint
Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint
I have used WatchGuard Fireboxes for nearly 20 years and they have always performed the way they are expected. During the start of Covid-19, we started a hybrid workspace for our office staff with implementing the hybrid workspace we needed a secure way to VPN from the employee's remote work environments. The WatchGuard VPN was a great solution and applying the AuthPoint solution on top made the connection that much more secure.
Pros
- Secure login
- Multi factor Authentication
- Ease of use
Cons
- Pricing
- Knowing that I am using a solution that I can truly trust helps me feel secure with my network.
They both serve their purpose. I do use the AuthPoint for more products than the Microsoft version. I do prefer the WatchGuard product because its support is far superior to that of Microsoft. I have never had an issue reaching support and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get support from them.
I do like the cloud features of this product. Since I use WatchGuard for several products it is nice to be able to manage everything from one central site. I also like the fact that I can manage my WatchGuard products from anywhere that I have an internet connection.
We have an older workforce and they would prefer not to have the added login features. However, in today's time, you can not be too secure and they tolerate having to use the app on their phones. Especially since it is easy to use.
Right now I have not implemented the secure SSO features.
