Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
We're using Workfront with one of our clients. In our case, we manage marketing campaign production within the tool and it involves multiple business areas like creative, copywriting, coding, and operations. Being a project management professional, it is easy to manage work via Workfront and make sure things are getting done on time and to the fullest. The tool allows for easy communication as well as makes it clear who is responsible for what.
- Task management: makes it easy to assign tasks and keep all the communication in one place.
- Schedule and timeline management: it is clear when things should be delivered, what is blocking them, and what the priorities are.
- Asset management: it is easy to collaborate on creative assets, store them, and share across teams.
- Notification management is not flexible enough and sometimes you don't get notified of certain actions.
- Comments do not support attachments so you have to provide links to digital assets.
- Certain areas of the interface mimic each other very closely so it is easy to get confused and post/upload something to a wrong page.
- Although the tool is complex it didn't take more than a few hours to master it. t has a really easy and quick learning curve.
- Never missed any production deadlines or faced major roadblocks thanks to good task management. It works like a Swiss watch.
- Minimized the number of emails and kept all the communication organized in one place. Great for communication and paper trails.
Workfront is one of the most expensive tools in the market but it offers a lot as well. From budget management to resource management, to support levels, reporting, usability, and even the mobile app. All of those things combined made for a great tool that was easy to use and very effective. There are also compliance considerations which Workfront meets at a high level. Last but not least, the tool also integrates with a lot of 3rd party solutions.
