Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent
Xactly was being used by my company almost company wide. We slowly phased in Xactly starting with our sales team and then later brought in anyone that was on a variable compensation plan. At its peak we had over 500 users of the system. We needed a tool to help us with SOX compliance an eliminating all of our excel calculation spreadsheets that could have incorrect formulas.
Pros
- Easy to create comp calculations. After a little work i was able to build out almost all of our plans and changes every year. It was very important to me to be in complete control of the system so i could make sure i understood the results.
- Great user GUI
- Super integration with Salesforce.com
Cons
- Has a good reporting engine, but isn't the easiest to use. There were several tables in the reporting engine that didn't have relationships to one another and thus you could not put those fields together on a report. I often found myself having to look for workarounds to get the answers i wanted on the same report.
- Xactly definitely had a positive impact on our business. We were able to move off of legacy systems and Excel spreadsheets which gave us more accurate calculations.
At the time we looked into it, Xactly was very much ahead of the curve compared to Varicent and how it functioned. We specifically wanted something that had a robust reporting engine and also integrated into Salesforce.com so our field teams could have a single point of entry into our systems.
