Overall Satisfaction with Zoom

Zoom is a product that has not been widely adopted yet, but there are portions of our sales and technical teams that are using Zoom in a secondary capacity besides WebEx due to some of the ease of use functionality that makes it more appealing to use. It also appears to have less issues with connectivity by and large, which makes it especially appealing when dealing with customers; however, due to the company's mandate to use WebEx for sales calls, the adoption in that capacity is very limited.
  • Zoom is simple to use.
  • Zoom has a variety of tools that are set up in a fairly intuitive manner.
  • Zoom makes hosting meetings very simple and they seem to not experience as much lag and connectivity as some of their major competitors.
  • WebEx is a household name; Zoom still has room to grow in that regard.
  • Zoom, though easier to use than WebEx, in some ways, does not include a one time password functionality like WebEx, which makes things more convenient.
  • To my knowledge, Zoom does not support file transfer and also does not include co-browsing and/or removing attendees from meetings
  • It makes life easier when meeting with internal teams, except for a slightly less convenient file transfer limitation
  • The experience has been positive in the limited number of cases that I have used Zoom with customers as well.
  • Overall, Zoom is simple to use, and that makes the time spent more about the meeting than trying to facilitate the meeting, which is exactly what a solution like Zoom is supposed to accomplish; they get out of their own way quicker than WebEx, in my opinion.
I do not use Zoom Rooms beyond a couple of occasions when customers have invited me to their own personal Zoom Room for a meeting that they initiated.
I would place Zoom at the top of the list. It is the easiest to use with the fullest function set alongside of WebEx in terms of functionality. Zoom seems to be among the best business web meeting options currently available, and the tool continues to get better on a semi-regular basis.
Simply put, Zoom is easier to use than WebEx. It has a simpler interface, the features are designed and organized in an easy to understand and rapidly adopt format, and the experience seems to be more positive overall than the WebEx experience that I have had at multiple companies over nearly a decade of use.

Using Zoom

50 - Various
  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Internal dialogue
  • Simplified UI cuts down on load time for meetings.
  • Onsite/remote co-led meetings
  • Internal screen sharing for territory and account alignment and strategy sessions
  • Replacing incumbent as provider of choice
I don’t make the decisions for the company, but I will likely continue to use it as long as I am able to do so.

Evaluating Zoom and Competitors

Not Sure - I know that we still use Webex as the tool of choice despite numerous indiciduals preferring zoom as their vendor of choice. Perhaps this will change in the future.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Product Reputation
  • Prior Experience with the Product
Usability and product features were the most important and still are in my opinion. Zoom is easy to use and intuitive. They do a good job of getting it if their own way to ensure that meetings are less about zoom and more about the people on the conference call. Zoom is able to be used both by desktop and mobile and it’s interface is fairly simple for even non-subscribers to adopt. The tool is fast to load and updates are also semi-frequent enough as not to be disruptive to normal use. Overall, the tool is simply easy to use.
I would simply encourage more individuals who decide how we spend our tech budget to consider zoom and I would try to demonstrate the differences in a very methodical yet dynamic manner so as to encourage them to consider the updated of having a solution that is easier to use. I would also prefer for my company to have an actual subscription for all sales people instead of a few pocket licenses here or there, so as to ensure greater usability and familiarity with the product.

Zoom Support

I have not engaged the support team, and so my answer is N/A.
Not Sure - I do not know if we currently pay for support.
I do know that the times that others have been on the call that have experienced issues with Zoom, they have always spoken about how Zoom is pretty responsive about dealing with support issues, which was good to hear.

Using Zoom

I like the product. It is simple to use. It is intuitive and designed for making web conferencing easy to use for the masses. It “gets out of its own way,” which is huge for a tool of this nature.

  • Web calling is simple, easy and yet elegant inherently through the Zoom interface.
  • The startup of each conference is simple and elegant as well.
  • Screen sharing is relatively easy and switching between users in this regard is also fast and simple.
  • File sharing was either not available or not easily available last time I used the solution. I believe they may have updated the tool since then, but I think I recall it being a little slow to load.
