Adobe Experience Manager
Adobe Experience Manager is a well-suited tool, If you want to manage your content, sites, pages, etc. in one place, this is the perfect solution. Integrates well with other Adobe products, making development easy. The solution allows you to handle global content in one place if you are managing markets in more than one country

Salesforce Experience Cloud is well-suited for organizations that have clients who periodically or routinely need to access historical data or documents. The product also offers an exceptionally effective tool to engage with customers around support/service issues and the entire Case management functionality built into the Salesforce platform. The product might be less well-suited in environments where there is exceptionally high staff turnover within customer accounts, or where there is a substantial lack of very basic computer skills.

Pros
Adobe Experience Manager
- Adobe Experience Manager is great for maintaining large websites with lots of content. It has a comprehensive repository and folder structure which makes it easy to organize and break down your website into sections.
- Although we have not personally used it much yet, Adobe Experience Manager has integrations with the other Adobe Experience Cloud products such as Campaign, Target, and Analytics. The newest version(s) also have integrations with Creative Cloud products like Photoshop, which allows creatives to upload assets directly into the DAM.
- Adobe Experience Manager has powerful live copy/translation tools that allow you to clone and translate webpages into other languages for alternate language versions of your site.

- Complete integration with the Salesforce ecosystem. Data displayed in your Community portal reflects records from a Sales Cloud organization
- Highly customizable. A Community Cloud portal can be totally customized both visually and with different funcionalities with little to no coding skills required

Cons
Adobe Experience Manager
- Upgrading and applying patches can be hit or miss - I recommend backups because of the potential to damage the existing infrastructure
- Space management is an issue - every change or request takes up space that can be reclaimed, but only through a complicated procedure done through command prompts. There was no documentation for this on their site and we had to use a third party to create the procedure. It has to be run manually.
- There isn't a good backup system, particularly one that can be scheduled to run reliably.

Salesforce Experience Cloud
- The documentation for implementing Experience Cloud can be a bit confusing as their rebranding hasn't made it's way into all articles, resulting in different terminology being used to refer to the same thing
- Some things are not as intuitive regarding their customizability, so there's a bit of a learning curve (i.e. Lightning apps can't be used to customize layouts in Experience Cloud)

We had and still have a fantastic experience using Adobe CQ. Lots of flexibility, great integration with other Adobe products we already use and a powerful technology make it a great fit for our corporate environment. Also as the community grows, it makes it easier to network with other developers and users to get new ideas on how to continue to get the best out of the software.

I personally feel that AEM is very intuitive to use from an authoring standpoint. The entire CMS was engineered around the author. Everything about AEM is geared to helping authors generate and maintain content. There are ways that tool tips can be customized so that any individual could simply hover over and be guided step by step on how to author web content

Usability is pretty streamlined, especially if you're familiar with other Salesforce products, but even if not, take it from me, as I just entered the technological space about two years ago, that this product is pretty simple to learn. You don't have to jump in with your head underwater. Small wins and learnings along the way are what foster long-term understandings and enable your evolution alongside the product. I definitely recommend Salesforce Trailhead along with it

When it comes to availability, adobe experience manager is the best with little to no downtime at least during business hours.Considering the enterprise scale and critical business solutions built on experience manager, availability was our primary requirement during CMS evaluation and adobe fits best on this parameter. If there's a planned upgrade, adobe would make sure they do it in non-business hours.

Page load time is important to me for search engine optimization reasons. I cannot say I have been particularly impressed by Adobe Experience Manager in this area so far. When using tools like Google's PageSpeed Insights, the reports received on our AEM pages have suggested there is a lot of room for improvement, especially when assessing mobile performance.

It's delivered on our original requirements and we've found ways to grow its usage. We continue to build on our original success and we can report our data out to leadership to show a true return on investment which is great for growing support and expanding uses for the system.

Adobe Experience Manager, in all its capacity, is a great alternative to any other CMS you are using. It helps in rapid development and makes life easier for maintaining the website for multi-language sites. Technical know-how is eliminated at content authoring. Better documentation in terms of live examples with videos would be appreciated.

We have weekly calls with our Salesforce reps. They bring new ideas to the table and help with taxonomy builds. They have also answered many questions and connected us to the right people for us to grow our knowledge and utilization of the platform. They are a good partner overall in comparison.

Depending on your individual needs, It is really quite simple to create an authoring experience for a website that looks really good. I have been part of many implementations and many teams and have seen many projects that were super successful and others that were not implemented well. AEM has room for a lot of flexibility in the implementation process compared to other CMS like SharePoint

I think AEM is specific to the client's needs and is not necessarily comparable to all other platforms. However, when compared feature to feature I think AEM many times is a leader in the industry. While WordPress has progressed in the WYSIWYG interface it is not there still today and this is truly where AEM shines against all of the other CMS platforms.

I have used Datatel/Colleague/Recruiter before. There were issues because only one person at the institution was able to have the student's record open at a time. This was problematic when collaboration between departments was necessary especially in the case of admissions, financial aid, and registration. We also had to do our work and then log out before asking a questions of another department. Sometimes simultaneous use was necessary. However, this was years ago and they may have since updated the program.

Instead of being directly involved in the tool purchase, I am involved in analysis or what we can use to maximize the tool. Small organizations may find it expensive. However, if the team or organization focuses more on your ROI or the features you will get, then it will definitely be worth it. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including team size or the use of the tool. The user can select the pricing option that best fits their needs based on the number of form submissions they make or the number of pages they wish to publish on their global/multisite sites.

The professional services team within adobe is one of the best in terms of technical and solutioning knowledge. However, considering the billing charges of adobe professional services team, it is always recommended to involve them during platform initial setup or when a complex solution is to be built with platform customizations.

- We can have multiple teams globally and connect anytime we want.
- Finding target audiences for advertisement campaigns became [so] much easier than before.
- One drawback is that the users have to be well trained and [preferably have] more IT knowledge among them to interact with the AEM.
