Amazon CloudFront vs. Cloudflare vs. Microsoft Entra ID

Amazon CloudFront is the perfect solution for any type of company. If a company is small or medium size, CloudFront offers 1 TB monthly free bandwidth which is more than for any small and medium size companies. If we compare the speed of CloudFront with other CDN, CloudFront is way ahead of their competitors and with 1 TB free bandwidth. If someone is ready to invest time in CloudFront documentation then he/she definitely go for it.

Cloudflare works well as security measure that gives peace of mind without needing to work too hard to get it functioning well. It provides great tools to customize the security experience as well. This is all the same for the caching tools as well. They have a lot of built in tools that make using the caching easy right out of the box, but they provide the customization options to get things just right for your site.

If you have a mixed solution, such as different types of devices with different types of operating systems, it could be more complicated. But if you have already decided that your company will be a Microsoft company in terms of everything internally running with Microsoft software, like the operating system, Windows 11, then this is probably the best way to use it. So if you have mixed or hybrid solutions or scenarios, maybe it's not exactly what you mean.

• The best part is the content delivery network. Cloudflare has a large network of data centres around the world that helps cache and delivers content quickly to our customers.

Some people travel to Australia or some people travel to Canada based on the business requirements. • I say "cost" on a per-user basis for smaller organizations, which is why Microsoft has small-business programs. I'm trying to figure out if anything is uniquely gripping. I guess transitions to and from, but to be honest, that's where we live. The difficulty of adopting Microsoft Entra ID when you didn't start there as an organization is a little bit sizable, but that's the case with any identity provider. It's not anything endemic to Microsoft Entra ID. It works. It's efficient.

We're confident that it will scale with us as grow, and we'll be able to take advantage of additional security and ID management features as they become necessary. Everything is extremely concise and all settings apply immediately and take effect globally. There is no reason to explicitly plan/think in terms of individual regions as one would have to traditional cloud offerings (AWS, OCI, Azure). All Cloudflare products integrate seamless as part of a single pipeline that executes from request to response.

Simply because of what I mentioned earlier, the feature set sort of keeps changing and they do a lot of, they integrated with a lot of the other tools and so for users who are not as well seasoned, it may be a little bit more complicated for them to begin working within the tool.

CloudFront is a good CDN solution. It can be a bit complicated to implement depending on your needs, but AWS tech support is great. You get to avoid a ton of upfront costs by going with CloudFront. It works best in conjunction with other AWS services in your infrastructure. Once you set it up, you won't need to do much to maintain it. It just works.

Amazon has always been creative and leading, and I have been using its services for years. They are very reassuring and have fast and responsive support--you can call them from any time zone to respond quickly. High security on servers, open hands on changes, and increasing and decreasing server resources and features.

They have the most generous free offering, and after the free offering limit is reached - you're still getting plenty of value for the buck.

Microsoft Entra ID is not as stand-alone product as competitors like Okta. It may lack some of the features that competing products have but on the other hand it integrates both technically and license wise with other Microsoft cloud services and is easy to deploy. It is also the easiest way to extend identity management to the cloud if you already have Microsoft Active Directory in use.

• RoI for using CloudFront is immense. You can use it for all your certificate management and static asset management of your websites using CloudFront.
• It is as good or better than any other CDN provider with multi-region support across the world using AWS regions.

• Immediate ROI on Registrar and DNS hosting while giving a single plane of glass to managing both with domain registrations at cost, and no cost DNS hosting
• WAF helped us move at risk servers/applications into a protected state allowing us to perform remediations at a measured pace and get them done right instead of band aide solutions.
• CDN proxying increase the speed of our website while simultaneously reducing server load.
• DMARC management and report interpretation allow use to identify weak points in our email systems, remediate and move to stricter policies without significantly increasing staff time spent managing it.

• I think managing costs was probably the biggest one as a nonprofit. We're always worried about the financial impact that any product can have. And as licenses change or they are shut down, migrating to the proper product without going over budget is always something we are concerned about. But for the most part, it's been positive. Microsoft works for us as nonprofits to make sure that we get very fair pricing.
