VersionOne's UI and UX is so severely dated. Actions that would take just 2 or less clicks would take multiple clicks, a pop up window, and old style dialogs in VersionOne. Hated it.
JIRA is way better than its competitors in terms of functionality and usability. It has all the components that are required for project management and makes the development process very fast.
Though with JIRA you need to buy a lot of plugins but it is still cheaper than HP ALM or HPE Octane which is very costly. HP QC is a fully functional software lifecycle tool and probably strongest in its test management capabilities. But in Agile we don't need that extensive …
Jira provides the full agile model with a customization path. Moving from road-testing to driving it on the highway is a short learning curve. VersionOne is more complex.

The waterfall evangelists wanted MS Project. Some Agile enthusiasts wanted Rally and some wanted VersionOne. We did an evaluation and looked at how each tool supported them. We mainly use VersionOne, but since the PM team is from a center of excellence, they still use …
These two are close; however, CollabNet VersionOne offers more flexibility and control. Admin users have a wider variety of customization options and integration with 3rd party applications
We considered rally & AgileCraft since they also provides good support to SAFe framework. Though I personally found Rally better equipped but Rally was rejected due to its higher cost.

JIRA appears to be more extensible with the ability for Scrum, Kanban, bug/incident tracking, and the ability to customize dashboards. However, VersionOne's performance over the same teams is extremely fast in comparison and therefore allows users to be more productive over the …
I didn't select JIRA myself, but JIRA has drag & drop capability for attachments; a better search engine; much more customization available per team; a cleaner look and feel; great integration with Zephyr for test case management; and story items are not as bloated with fields.
Jira facilitates software development, bug tracking, and sprints. It's ideal for structured workflows, issue management, and customer communication. However, more straightforward tools might be more efficient for highly creative, unstructured tasks or tiny, agile teams with quick visual overviews. Jira's complexity can be overkill for basic task lists.
Digital.ai (formerly XebiaLabs, CollabNet VersionOne, and Arxan)
Scenarios where it works well: 1) Retros can be very well facilitated & notes/action items can be captured against the sprint. 2) Product Owner can effectively track the story progress with all the test-cases, design etc. 3) Being good scaling support, it provides good visibility across multiple teams, programs and agile portfolios, providing a centralized environment where all our stakeholders can easily work together regardless of location. 4) It provides easy tracking all of your epics, stories, themes, defects, tasks, tests and issues 5) I like its intuitive UI as for moving stories around, burning hours. 6) It allows top leadership to visualize and report their strategic plans, giving all stakeholders the relevant data that they need to stay dedicated to the project priorities. 7) It can be easily integrated with slack so for few teams we used slack for collaboration Scenarios where it did not work well: 1) Test Management need improvement in terms of tracking tests, team had hard time tracking regression test cases. 2) Version one comes with lot of features like Rally but here we don’t get customizations which is there in Jira where from workflow to issue everything can be customized based on your team/program/portfolio requirements. 3) Lot of navigation to access basic stuff. Example I want to go to bug attachment , there are lt of clicks & navigation need to do which should be pretty straightforward I feel.
Integration of tools like Bitbucket, Github, etc., has made it easier to track the code changes, pull requests, and branches linked to the respective ticket.
The detailed tracking system in JIRA has helped the teams prioritize and understand the project tasks and issues.
JIRA's project tracking board helps you keep track of the project, its flow, and expectations in a structured format.

Although Digital.ai Agility supports customizations, they can be somewhat cumbersome to set up and maintain
The Analytics engine's user experience for digging into the data does not have the same feel as the rest of the system and, as a result, can be hard to work with
This is because Jira Software generates a huge profit for an affordable price. Having a tool that makes team management transparent and effective is very valuable.
In addition, the renewal of Jira Software and all Atlassian tools is predictable and clear, as the prices are published on the Atlassian website and there is no pyramid of intermediaries.

Usability
Atlassian
The interface is simple and easy to use if you have some experience with it. Configuration is also logical most of the time. However, less experienced users tend to find themselves lost in some tasks - usually complex project configuration- but sometimes simple things, such as seeing why a user can't move issues in a workflow. Jira configuration requires a good amount of experience - and even experienced users often resort to documentation. It's a tool that's easy to use if you know what you're doing and where to find the proper documentation, but novice users tend to find it challenging.

Support Rating
Atlassian
I have not had a chance to contact JIRA's customer support. It does offer extensive documentation, although it often feels too technical for me. There is also a JIRA training app that lets you take little lessons and quizzes on different areas (e.g., JIRA basics, agile). I did find it a helpful way to teach myself.
Digital.ai (formerly XebiaLabs, CollabNet VersionOne, and Arxan)
VersionOne provides outstanding training. They have Product Owner training that I recommend every Product Owner attend. They have scrum master training and other agile training that was well worth the money paid because it made the teams more productive. And the support for the tool is incredible. These people live and breathe Agile and are evangelists and enthusiasts.
Had received training from our own internal user so it was good and also very easy to understand topics and many tasks in the UI are self explanatory and we can do by our own

Online Training
Atlassian
One of their strong points i stheir documentation. Almost all of the basic set up needed within JIRA is available online through atlassian and its easy to find and very precise. The more critical issues need to be addressed as well and hence the rating of 8 instead of a 9.

Implementation Rating
Atlassian
Take your time implementing Jira. Make sure you understand how you want to handle your projects and workflows. Investing more time in the implementation can pay off in a long run. It basically took us 5 days to define and implement correctly, but that meant smooth sailing later on.
