Very well suited for founders who are building companies in the US but are not US citizens. Works like a charm for start-ups who are looking for a cutting-edge product and not an outdated bank! Small-medium teams. Not well suited for those who are used to traditional banking and prefer in-person interaction or over the phone.
There is a lot of functionality available for any company, and when you combine it with their A/P processing software, I'm sure the value of the software only increases. If you don't look back through your credit card receipts often, or don't have a lot of volume, the receipts not uploading into the accounting software isn't as much of an issue. For us, with roughly $200k of credit card spending each month, it became an issue. The rewards program was hard for us to take advantage of also, mostly because of our spending being spread across multiple companies. Even though we had everything set up together as one business, they still recognized each one as it's own, with it's own rewards requirements. I wouldn't deter anyone from going with Bill Spend & Expense, it's a solid program with a lot of capability, there are just a few small items that mattered to us more than the capabilities we take advantage of.
Workday is well suited for managing employees throughout their full life cycle. It excels at housing employee data from the start of their time with the company through their departure. Workday is less suited to payroll functions, which could be more robust.
Rewards - The rewards were the main reason for us switching. Our previous card provider did not have a good rewards program.
User Interface and experience - When a charge is recorded on the Brex card, users immediately receive a text notification asking them to send a picture of their receipt. Brex automatically attaches the receipts to the charge which has saved our users a significant amount of time.
The flexibility of going beyond handling the accounts, where we can handle cash, assets, and accounting simultaneously for the customer.
The single platform offers grants management where you can organize the lifecycle of the grants and synchronize it with any criteria of grant closing out scheme.
I personally liked Project billing with the essence of evaluating project revenue and nice reporting templates that can be shared with the customer at any stage of the project while having the flexibility of auditing the reported cost.
I wish there were more options in the BILL reimbursement platform - for example, the ability to do a report instead of submit a single expense.
We would love for reimbursements to feed into QuickBooks differently, but we understand that this is an early feature and hope it is further developed in the future.
The Divvy card provides convenience and flexibility for Finance to manage and monitor each user's transactions at any time. User can issue many virtual cards for different purposes. Transactions can be easily approved. Since we can monitor transaction closely, fraud can be prevented effectively. Mobile app is user friendly and safe.
Workday is easy enough navigate, as long as it is properly set up. With that said, it can be put together in a modular fashion as well, allowing for a very high degree of flexibility in terms of design and process delegation. Finally, it makes consolidation achievable in times previously unthinkable.
We have enjoyed using Divvy and its functions. The Divvy team has been great, and their support team is outstanding. They have a chatbox on the platform, and they only seem to be someone on call. I have found its benefits to be outstanding, that I recommend it to my clients. I also feel that Divvy rolling out new features only makes it more compelling to stay on as a user.
Our support team has been awesome. They are extremely knowledgeable and have been able to guide us through all of the challenges we have faced. Workday's community online is also extremely helpful with many trainings and help topics that can be reviewed at your convenience.
Divvy allows you to get hyper focused in on how much individuals are allowed to spend. Honestly it is comparable to Brex, but is more well suited for micromanaging organizational spend. Brex is good because I am able to give my employees limits that match our budgets and I don't care about micromanaging their spend.
Nothing out there compares to the agility and ease of use of Divvy. Adoption by those most resistant to any expense reporting tool has always been the #1 painpoint to all other such software. Divvy takes the pain away even for creatives and salespeople!
Despite Airtable also being easier to use one thing that differentiates and put forth Workday Financial Management tool above is it's key features and better suited functionality for handling confidential data. The other positive note where Workday Financial Management performs high is it key analytics tool that's easier to use and representation of information into insightful dashboards.
We were able to combine 4 different HR modules into one system.
We reduced data breach incidents by 95% after shifting to Workday. One of our legacy softwares had vulnerabilities.
The initial learning curve was higher than projected. We spent about a week to 10 days extra time deploying it, which affected the profit center that year.
