DocuSign has a reminder function if the paperwork is not complete. You just click Remind and it sends the person a reminder to complete.

I was told that the other services may have a better API but for our needs, the cheaper the better and eSign Live's prices could not be beat. I believe that DocuSign's similar product was roughly four times as much as what we are currently spending on eSign Live.
Chose OneSpan Sign
Both products had similar functions, but I found that OneSpan Sign just had the edge when it came to use ability and user experience. It is very clear how to use the system and it integrates very well into our business. Are use it on a regular basis, and even though I’ve tried …

All other evaluated tools allowed for changes within the document after the first signature. Within OneSpan this action kicked off a completely new signing process. This along with the security compliance was our main factor for approval.

DocuSign was probably one of the alternatives but to be honest we just did not evaluate alternatives at all. We were simply happy to integrate easily with an approved (by our financial institution) eSign product. We just moved from the POC to a "That's a go" decision given the …

This product is well suited in the use case that I provided before: when it comes to onboarding employees and providing a clear channel for decision making for human resources, this is an excellent tool to accomplish that. I would say the weak points is when you have back and forth communication with users that it might seem a little redundant to have that back and forth communication in that scenario.

I think Kaspersky is well suited for large and small companies. Larger companies can take advantage of the KSC (Kaspersky Security Center) servers to help manage a large network. The KSC has many good features to help monitor the health of the organization. It does a good job with updating and deploying remotely. It has inventory features, and can even deploy non-Kaspersky software packages uploaded to the center. KSC can become a source of good information about [your] network that can be seen at a glance. IT departments are normally smaller than they need to be. KSC helps with larger and smaller companies because of this. A small company would appreciate the amount of information and management that can be done through KSC without needing extra help. If the company is small enough that they don't have servers on-site, there is a cloud version. I have not used that to know how it differs from the local KSC.

OneSpan Sign is suited to many professional business situations. It is well used by the legal, security and compliance teams as well as many people within the financial functions. A lot of businesses have become very agile, and require a paperless environment to working. There are some companies and businesses who would prefer paper documents to be signed, which would not work as well as the paperless versions. I would use it in many different scenarios where I would prefer to have a paperless transaction

Pros
DocuSign
  • Ease of sending the same document out to multiple recipients, at multiple locations, for multiple signatures
  • Quick turnaround - once the recipient signs the document, we receive notification and the document back immediately
  • Can resend, alter, change, and/or add to the email and/or document that is sent out very easily
  • The recipient can save the document after signing, so they too have their own electronic copy for their records

  • The Security Center is laid out very well and makes it easy to install and manage the client endpoint protection on servers and workstations.
  • The way security policies are defined and managed is very easy to understand.
  • The client programs seem to be lighter and smaller on the client systems than others I have used in the past. Using fewer resources is always an advantage.

  • One can set up a workflow in which one can specify the order in which signatures have to be done.
  • Customer service is great and always ready to go the extra mile.
  • Pricing is very transparent, and there are no hidden charges.

Cons
DocuSign
  • Tracking, particularly when collecting signatures through connected applications, such as an ATS, is not always clean or easily traceable.
  • Formatting documents to handle electronic signature types (signatures, initials, etc.) is not always easy, and highly dependent on the partner's technology.
  • It is not convenient to have to use DocuSign as a stand alone product if the signatures are required for 3rd party applications. It definitely excels on its own, but the scope of that usage, at least for us, is slim.

  • The PC imaging tools are difficult to set up and use
  • Device Encryption tools are getting better, but are difficult to manage.
  • The policies are powerful, but could be broken up. More help can be provided in what the policy element does within the policy setup

  • Search capabilities can be improved by a great extent. We still can't search documents by name of the signatory
  • Pricing seems a bit high when compared with other players in the market
  • Data importing and exporting capabilities can be improved drastically

I can't imagine doing business without DocuSign now. I would never want to go back to the way we used to do things. The "new way" is "the way" is "the right way." We can honestly be proud of a "one right way" process and not have to suffer through "5 ways for 5 days."

The product is stable and accurate in detecting security threats. There are very few or no false positives in detecting security threats or unusual behavior and has very sharp heuristics. The product does the job very well including saving us money in getting 3rd party patch management tools as the business is already using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager which is Microsoft product specific and the product patches these third party products e.g Adobe Flash Player

I don't see any reasons to change as their solution covers all my need for now. I could make even more integrations but that might be something that I will do down the road. I'm used to working with the interface and my data is all there as well.

Usability
DocuSign
Generally user-friendly once you have command of the basics, but also has a lot of nuances that can make it difficult to train others on. DocuSign University is a helpful tool, but understandably a lot of content to get through to become a well-versed user. A lot of different functionalities but only a few I use on a weekly basis.

I will give Kaspersky a score of 9 out of 10 for scalability, as it allows businesses to easily expand their security infrastructure. This means it won't cost them a lot to add further protection and security. It won't also require them to purchase other hardware and services for their required protection.

Users don't notice any slowdown with the antivirus running on their systems. There have been issues when the systems have missed a scheduled scan, and it was checked to run at [a] first available time, they will start a full scan at startup. This has caused some lag. Normally there are also some issues with the workstation, but it is something to note.

I'd give them a 10, but there has been 1 or 2 small cases that seemed to fall to the wayside, but I was able to call them up and get them resolved. I give the maximum grade because we have no complaints; we never had any failure, serious error, and serious threat to the company. All of its features work very well. The great advantage of having a product supported by an industry-leading security company is that regularly updated security protocols will protect the system against all emerging threats.

The product is so well designed and built that we rarely need to reach out to customer service. But we have reached out to them in case of downtime, and we have always gotten a satisfactory response. We never had to follow up, as customer service executives were very responsible.

Online Training
DocuSign
Docusign is super easy to use, and apart from a few administration details, there was really nothing to train on. Post implementation, there were issues with configuration of auto-filled documents with the integrating 3rd party. That training required some time, because the DocuSign expert took the time to walk me through the 3rd party's configuration (how often does that happen?) so I could see how DocuSign should be best used to overcome weaknesses in the 3rd party platform. 10/10 expert care.

Until you get the hang of it, I recommend doing several internal tests before sending a document to a client. As I mentioned earlier, you have to go through a bit of trial and error at first to verify that the workflow works as expected.

Make sure to provide awareness campaigns on changes that will be implemented and WHY the business is doing it and the benefits reaped. Benefits reaped is very important for the justification of why things have to change and emphasizing the importance of security. This will reduce user disgruntlement and total bitterness on use of their workstation or laptop

There has never been anything that we could really compare to Docusign. We have tried sending documents in a PDF version, but that was not nearly as efficient. DocuSign saves your signature in the system and uses that as it goes through your documents.

Kaspersky is a leader in endpoint protection, but its ties to potential adversaries are unsettling. Kaspersky has a great threat research team and quickly identifies malicious software and its signature. Its web-based protection is also top notch. This is a great product but as with everything has its place.
