Gong vs. Recurly

I think Gong is well suited when you are having a company that makes a lot of calls to clients or receives a lot of calls. It is very important. I think, from a business standpoint, to log all of the calls and conversations that are had to use in case anything ever comes up. Also, just to make sure that your employees are doing well on the calls, because you cannot monitor every single call personally. Having this as a reference point to listen to things that might be important versus not is awesome. it might be less appropriate if you are not really interacting a ton with the clients. If you are more so just doing business meetings, then it might not be needed. However, I do think it's a great tool overall because it provides the AI note recap from the calls and logs everything that might be helpful for any reason

Recurly is great for tracking transactions and reviewing payment method declines. The platform is extremely helpful when dealing with scenarios where someone believes they have been fraudulently charged for the product. Recurly allows for transaction filtering, which is very helpful when trying to find possibly fraudulent charges very easy. If expecting precise, detailed information about a card decline, Recurly would not be very helpful.

• It handles 1:1 and 1:many accounts to subscription set up.
• It has a good billing customization option (cadence, pricing, etc.)
• Can easily set up a customer account and invoice - billing link can be generated so no need to take credit card info over chat, phone, or email.
• Great and responsive customer support.
• Supports multi-language.

• A history tracker (similar to Google Sheets/Excel) - it'd be nice to see WHO was changing certain fields and when exactly.
• Dark mode.
• A quick checklist when getting started to ensure I'm getting the most out of the platform (e.g., Gong Connect, Gong Import).

• I really can't think of any shortcomings on Recurly because they have tried to cover all bases well. However, I believe that pricing could be little competitive because Recurly can become quite expensive when you have acquired a good number of subscribers. So apart from price, there are no shortcomings I can think of on product side.

I don't make these decisions for our company, but I would highly encourage our use of Gong to continue. Gong has been very helpful in my sales role in terms of staying organized and on top of accounts, completing actions in a timely manner, and moving deals forward with better insights

I believe we would continue to use Recurly because they have shown that they are continually improving their software, and they listen to their customers

It does great for all the things I've mentioned. I didn't give it a 10/10 because I still think there is room to improve as far as improving the quality of the insights that are more actionable. I.e. this happened so you should think about doing this thing as a next step.

Recurly is very good at showing all the data we need to see on a day to day basis. Keeping track of invoices and subscriptions across many markets helps us see the overall map of our business operations. Our representatives that do not work in billing can easily understand from viewing the platform of our progress.

I give them a 10 because, I have been using Gong for over a year now and have never had issues or concerns go un resolved in a day or two. Their communication is impeccable and their tech support is very hands on and prompt

It stacks up in a different way. All of these companies try to do some feature that Gong does. Like Call recording, call analysis, AI discovery, Forecasting and Sales Activity tracking. Gong beats most, Otter.ai is a growing competitor though.

Recurly does a much better job at handling subscription payments than QuickBooks Online. We only use QuickBooks Online when we have a client who cannot pay via credit/debit card. In those cases, we send out automatic invoices via QuickBooks Online instead. 95% of our clients are processed through Recurly.

• I don't have specific metrics since this feature isn't used in my job personally, but I do know that our sales and CS teams use Gong with SFDC opportunities to help with forecasting closed won opportunities based on intent captured within the call.

• Providing an interface for our subscribers to manage their own accounts has simplified our business tremendously. This alone has freed up hours of our staff's time each day.
• Many customers receive new credit cards due to expiration or fraud. The time we spent in updating this information prior to using Recurly's Revenue Recovery feature versus now is significant.
