If you're looking for a platform to house and manage content for your sellers to leverage in presentations as well as in emails, Highspot is a great asset. It's a very intuitive platform that doesn't have a bunch of fluff to sort through to get to what you are looking for. The ability to create different homepages depending on which department a user is a part of is also a great feature. Our Sales team will log on and see the most important documents for them, and then our Marketing team can log in and see something completely different.

Terminus ABM Platform

If you're looking for a display advertising option, then Terminus is one of the major players - for better or worse. They source intent data from a third party (Bombora, I believe) so you have some targeting options available to you beyond company and position within. Advertising costs are in addition to the base contract price for their service so that's something to keep in mind if you're trying to work within a smaller budget. Since this is display advertising, the billing method is CPM (cost per thousand impressions). Their ad network does include the option to do Sponsored Posts with LinkedIn (although you can do that on your own honestly).

  • Outlook Plug-In is very easy to use and allows users to easily access Highspot content
  • Highspot provides instant feedback when an email is opened and data about the length of time the reader spent in the document.
  • Overall ease of use. Highspot is very easy to use and navigation is very intuitive.

  • Event Announcements. We use Sigstr to promote hosted and co-hosted events. Email recipients can click on the Sigstr to register for the event itself. By promoting events through Sigstr we have been able to increase event registration and attendance.
  • Content Sharing. New blog post, webinar, presentation, infographic... you name it, you can use Sigstr to promote it. Furthermore, you can personalize the content to target different audiences based of the sender group. Example: customer content Sigstr belongs to support, while marketing new business content belongs to sales.
  • Announcements. Product enhancements, Company news etc. You can use Sigstr to promote general announcements relevant to the audience.

Highspot

  • Sometimes I cannot see what slides are in my deck during a live pitch, so I'm flying blind as I'm presenting. I know my content well so I can manage it, but it makes it hard when you have to jump from slide to slide instead of just straight through the presentation.

  • They recently purchased some new solutions that are being integrated into the platform so once that is completed it will be a much more robust solution.
  • I think updating what is considered high value vs brand awareness on the spike report could be a little more seamless.
  • For Salesforce integration, Terminus information unfortunately doesn't pull in historically, it just shows what has happened since the integration started. I think it's unfortunate because that historical data tells us a lot.

Brightfunnel is a very useful tool but can only be used to the fullest if your data is there. It is hard for organizations with bad data to fully utilize its abilities.

I use Highspot every day. It is basically my go-to spot to find anything I need to know about the product, like pricing and internal processes. It also helps me provide value-added emails to my prospects with extreme ease. Without Highspot I would not have the current success that I have right now in sales.

I have not needed any customer support until now, I guess this is because they work on a proactive maintenance of the platform. We have an internal team working with Highspot so if I need help I go to my internal team not directly to Highspot. I have never heard any complaints.

Alternatives Considered

Highspot

Dropbox was sufficient for storing content in an easy to access space but, provided us no value beyond that. SharePoint actually made us less productive due to the amount of time our sales team had to spend searching for the right piece of content. Neither solution provided us any analytics as to what content was being used/engaged with.

Highspot provided us with intuitive content search and organization with the ability to tag keywords, search queries, and fine-tune categorization of all of our content. Highspot also provided us with direct feedback when our customer or prospective customers were viewing content which enabled us to follow-up at the perfect time and was directly attributed to several closed won opportunities. Their Outlook integration is the icing on the top as it allows our sales team to share content, access email templates, and link communication back to Salesforce without ever having to leave the email client. With these features combined Highspot has made me drastically more productive and efficient in my work.

Terminus ABM Platform

Sendoso and Terminus are alike in that they both work to add "personalization" into Marketing. However, they are not competitors per-say. Sendoso personalizes the physical interactions (direct mail) while Terminus works on the digital landscape. I would say Terminus more competes with SEO or SEM, in which a user of Terminus is experiencing much less wasted dollars than that of SEM or SEO

  • We are in the early stages of implementing Terminus' engagement metrics into actions and it difficult to evaluate the long term ROI.
  • I believe that the ROI will be substantial but hard to qualify as we retarget our marketing investments towards plays that have a better yield.
  • It certainly would be hard to return to a pre-Terminus based marketing program, which I think is a good indicator of its utility.
