We used Hootsuite because it was one of the bigger players in the space and we wanted to give it a try due to it's position in the market and the trust others had for it. We found it didn't exactly meet our needs and moved on to something else.
The only other product I have tried is Social Champ which I find to be pretty good as well. I would stack them up to Hootsuite with a bit more functionality on the free version and a better interface.

Before HubSpot CRM I used Goldmine, which felt very early 2000's in its structure. HubSpot CRM is a very modern tool that allows for setting up simple tasks in the most aesthetically pleasing and easy to understand way.

Hootsuite allows us to schedule posts in advance, monitor engagement, and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. Hootsuite’s content calendar is useful in planning and scheduling posts in advance, ensuring a steady flow of content without needing to post each day manually.
I can't really think of any scenarios or anything where HubSpot is is not appropriate but some areas that HubSpot is well suited like I previously stated is definitely the social media scheduling. Prior to HubSpot I would have to log on to each social account and upload status', images, videos separately and set posting times live whereas now I have control of all of our social channels and can schedule out posts for our most optimal posting days and hours. I also really love the automated workflows, it feels like I don't have to do anything and the CRM is making updates and sending things out to prospects/clients to our liking 24/7 whenever it is most appropriate. It's also really well suited for data tracking whether its my marketing team benefiting or our sales team and managers able to track calls. I know the sales team loves how well organized and grouped their lists and contacts are as it makes it easier for them to communicate within their general sector of the business
Scheduling of content. The ease of use for Hootsuite's planner abilities is top of the industry. It is simple and effective in posting content to different channels and accounts.
Analytics are superior on Hootsuite. Their custom reports allow you to view very specific KPI's that you can adjust for each channel or account. The reports are also exportable to be used for others in the company.
Inbox management. The inbox manager is superior to any in the industry. Hootsuite allows you to tag certain phrases or keywords to better filter messages based on importance or topic.
Personalized email campaigns: It helps to create highly effective personalized emails with its wonderful content tokens.
Scheduling of meetings: It eliminates the bottlenecks in the process of meeting schedule with its amazing integrating capabilities with other calendar tools like Google calendar. It also ensures the automatic reminders of meetings to the participants of meeting.
Automation for follow-up : With its feature called "sequences", follow-up emails made easy.
One thing that's frustrating is when trying to change the date/time and having to go into each individual post to update it is a lot. With other calendar tools, you are able to drag and drop the post in the time you want it OR there is a pop up that allows you to change the date/time without having to go into editing the actual post.
It would be nice to have different calendar tabs for different brands. Instead of seeing all the brands scheduled posts on one calendar.
There needs to be a content library to house all the creative files so it's easier to choose and upload.
A lot of my companies have one URL for a ton of branches and each branch has their own name and location so I have to manually enter all the information because they all have the same URL so I can't easily use an Excel file to import those contacts so a faster solution to this would be appreciated
Making Corporate and branch associations is very tedious, it would be nice if the companies that all share the same url would automatically associate with the corporate company so I didn't have to manually do it
I would like to not see all the extra feature tabs in my layout because I am not using them so it would be nice to be able to turn them off (even the ones that are in my plan that I don't use, it would be nice to turn them off)
At this time we are satisfied that Hootsuite offers the most of what we are looking for at the most reasonable price point. As the social media landscape and monitoring/scheduling software changes, so do our needs. We re-evaluate our tools semi-annually or as new tools emerge onto the market. If we find at any point that we aren't gaining an advantage, then we are open to switching products.
To be honest there are some barriers due to which we are unable to use Hubspot at it's full potentials. The region that we work in has some restrictions that don't allow us to make calls or text which leaves us to just Email to the client.
I love using Hootsuite and all of the benefits it provides. It has many strengths that help with social media posting and managing our accounts. However, I believe some of the weaknesses like limited paid ad management, analytics being a little basic compared to competitors, and not having access to all of the features (unless you pay for a Team and Enterprise account) played a role in my rating. Overall, Hootsuite is a great company.
It is a very intuitive tool that can be used without much training or preparation. You can easily search for what you want and quickly check the information of interest. The system works without any problems; there are no crashes or glitches that could affect daily work. Compared to the systems I've worked on, this one appealed to me the most.
Any outages are communicated in advance and have not been a problem. We let our clients know based on communications from HootSuite. Since we operate 24/7 with multiple shifts, planned outages can interfere with our operations, but we can always work around it.
Hootsuite makes passing on articles from the web very easy- when it works! I have had a number of gliches with Chrome where it does not open properly and the solution (after some toing and froing with support) was to uninstall and reinstall. The support staff are always very helpful (which is great!) but the gliches..... well, they suck when you are already busy!
I can manage all of my accounts on one site! It's absolutely amazing! The dashboard is helpful to see how you are doing as well. Still getting to understand the analytics and may need to reach out for help on this
Because when I needed help HubSpot responded immediately and provided me with the information I needed which enabled me to realize that HubSpot was even more customizable and easier to use than I thought! And I already thought HubSpot was very user friendly and easy to use, and then Support showed me how to manipulate the settings, columns and the appearance of the tool.
The online training is decent; however, it takes a lot more time to search for answers to my questions. Having a training session with a live person was much more effective as they were able to quickly address the business needs I have.
• Combination of vendor and internal. The vendor bumped up our account to the Enterprise version (quite simple and easy) and then set up our organization and team structure. We then had to log in and set up team members and assign members to social media accounts. This was pretty easy to do as they have a great user interface. We simply had to drag and drop people into the correct team giving them access to specific social media accounts.
If you've had any prior experience with cloud based marketing automation or group communication tools, you can do the implementation without paid outside support. Though getting to a SLA (service level agreement) would be best achieved with the help of a third party who can facilitate

HubSpot CRM allows us to integrate our social platforms into our existing CRM, which is a cost saver, but Hootsuite is social media-focused, so the set-up is easier.
HubSpot is different as it allows us to see all deals as we wanted to compare to others as other apps don't have those features Hubspot has to view deals in different views and make it according to your pipelines the way you want to see the deals and data track the daily reports very easily and review our own performance for the day to grow more.
We're a small marketing team in our company so having hootsuite is a life saver, I'm spending less time posting content as I can do my plan in advance and then schedule it out over the month/months so I can get back to helping the team with the other work we deal with.
HubSpot is great for tracking deals - we use the deal pipeline to understand the part of the lifecycle that each and every deal is currently in. It also provides good historical information.
The contacts section is great for storing and managing engaged users for our mailing list. We utilise this feature with the free version.
