Pros

  • Social media recruiting. Their publisher app allows employees to very easily set up their social media pages once to automatically post jobs to their feed and they never have to update it again. It makes it easy for our company to get applications from employees and our employees receive a nice referral bonus to boot. The only problem is getting the employees to set it up to begin with.
  • Their scheduling system is by far the best I've ever seen. The scheduling we do is very complex. We have 2 recruiting coordinators for a 1200 person company. We hire anywhere from 100-150 sales people a month and about 100 product/tech people a year. Our scheduling requires coordinating between several c-level, senior level executives with very limited availability. Some of our interviews take 6 hours onsite and must be scheduled in a specific order. Jobvite's scheduling tool integrates with Outlook and allows us to view availability and book conference rooms right from their platform.

Cons

  • One thing that I really disliked about Jobvite when I was an internal recruiter is how the page would refresh every time I would schedule something. It was extremely time consuming and frustrating when I scheduled interviews for 6-8 interviewers and had to wait for the page to reload 6-8 times.
  • Another thing I found frustrating is the fact that I couldn't have two Jobvite windows open on different pages. It was extremely difficult to multitask.
  • Currently as an agency recruiter submitting candidates to organizations, I find it frustrating that I cannot search within candidates. Since I have 500+ candidates who I have submitted, I have to click from page to page to find a candidate by alphabetical order.

Usability

• The user interface is well designed; however user error can lead to some confusion. For example, Sometimes I can’t find specific candidates because my filters have been set a certain way. If filters are not set correctly, it can be hard to find the right data (e.g. is a requisition still open or filled). Other than that, it’s very straightforward. Most features are great and easy to use.
• I don’t utilize all features. For example, message board. I find this particular feature a bit overwhelming. There is so much data on a single screen, that it’s hard to take in and prioritize. I think this screen could be organized a little better so that action items are more clearly visible and action priority is clearer

I haven’t used support, however, my overall impression from my team is that it’s pretty good. Our general impression that JobVite is easy to work with.

Had phone training. Lots of webinars. Generally pretty good. Not enough time to learn. User community exists, but haven’t used.

Alternatives Considered

Jobvite is sllllllllooooooow. It gets infuriating. You pop in, want to glance at a few candidates. They take forever to load. I thought this was our internet. It wasn't. I tried it on laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphone, all equally slow. It has potential but has some major glitches to be worked out before I'd ever consider it again

Return on Investment

  • We never miss a resume! Whether posting on our careers page, LinkedIn or other third party sites, it all goes through jobvite being the hub for all roles.
  • We've increased our time to fill for each role since the process is much more streamlined in jobvite.
  • All employees are more engaged in recruiting with the ability to post on social media, plus we do an automatic email blast (via jobvite) to all employees every other Friday to alert them to our open positions. This way everyone can be a part of the recruiting process since our employees are our best resource for hires.
