Chose Viewpoint Spectrum
The cloud-based system is great, and the ease of use compared to other systems is why we chose it.
Viewpoint Spectrum allows us to have one platform to do payroll, invoice for projects, and manage the cost of a project. Whereas Procore didn't have those features and we were using multiple other platforms to do all of those things.
Spectrum, when compared to Simply accounting, is better. It has more options, and it is easy to navigate. Spectrum meets our needs better. Spectrum, when compared to Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, is better. Spectrum has better connectivity between its project …
Not sure how comparable these software are. Both are great and were used for different reasons for different companies and circumstances. I use Viewpoint Spectrum for the Roadway Contruction industry and SAP for the chemical manufacturing world. There are similarities but a lot …
Spectrum is much more comprehensive than its competitors, and provides a much deeper level of insight into project costing. From bidding to project closeout, Spectrum's software allows for cohesiveness and fluidity where other programs are very segmented and difficult to track.
Viewpoint is much more user friendly than Sage 300, but is more limited (less customizable). It is not easy to get custom reports out of Viewpoint, whereas Sage is perfect for customization. With that comes more attention to detail in Sage, from all users, to avoid erroneous …
I originally came off of the American Contractor when it reached its end of life, and my company converted to using Spectrum. American Contractor didn't give us half the visibility that Spectrum does - we still had to rely heavily on outside systems and processes to gain a full …
Prior to acquisition by Viewpoint and then Trimble, the customer support was a major selling point of the software. Unfortunately at this time, that is no longer the case.
Foundation has some nice features that Spectrum doesn't and vice versa. Procore is much more complicated to use but it has better company wide reporting. I think Viewpoint will be a better choice in the long term. They are rolling out updates all the time. The cost is …
Spectrum seems to be a better option for now since current leadership is comfortable with the financial aspect that Spectrum bring but some in the leadership team are not happy with the other offers that Trimble has.
On my old accounting software one feature I miss is the feature where I could run a GL detail report and actually click on a line to see the actual entry.
We selected Viewpoint Spectrum because it allowed us to run our construction and projects department along with our service department all in one application. We are into year five with Viewpoint Spectrum and are still very pleased with our decision.
I have only evaluated the products. I chose Spectrum because it was (at the time) relatively inexpensive or on par with the others and seemed like the best option that fits our business model. It has not proven to be very costly for what we are getting in my opinion and nothing …
I wasn't part of the evaluation, but I did give input on what I thought of Viewpoint Spectrum before we bought it. I had used Timberline and Sage, before we got to Spectrum.
Spectrum is an ERP system that was built with construction in mind. It has more applicability vs. Dynamics, which is used across many types of companies.
I investigated Sage, Timberline, ConMast, and Quickbooks some 25 years ago. Viewpoint Spectrum was the best overall in most coverage and flexibility, ease of use, and mastery. I do not have any knowledge on other software currently.
We stayed with Spectrum for what we thought would be an easy upgrade and transition. However, we are evaluating how we are going to use ViewpointOne Teams because we've suffered many roadblocks to daily use like daily logs and uploading of photos using the app. Also, choosing …
We originally had Jonas Premier prior to Viewpoint based on cost and flexibility (report writing). However, we discovered that Jonas reports are not available as described in the demo. And reports were not easy to read because they had to be created. It was challenging to …
I won't say that Zoho Projects is the best in comparison to its competitors, however, it does exactly what we need it to do and we are saving on the monthly fees we are paying for its competitors. The pros outweigh the cons. I would say that it's also not the fastest in terms …
We decided on Zoho Projects since the integration with Google Workspace is easier to perform. Also, the way to create our project templates was faster to perform, and we could integrate our final customers on all of their tasks that need focus. Finally, the principal point is …
We use other project management tools in other departments, I personally like Zoho Projects best because of the customization in terms of automation and customized reports in Zoho Analytics. The dashboards and data that can be used for decision making, tracking and management …
I would choose Hubspot & Asana over Zoho because of their intuitive UIs and functionality. I would choose Zoho over Basecamp only when you are managing hundreds of projects.
I found it easier to work with Zoho Projects. While working with WorkZone, my system got stuck between my work, and it cost us time to restart all of it. I couldn't switch between my work on WorkZone and my teammate; we're also having the same problem as I did. So we switch to …
MSP - Windows based. Not collaborative. Complex UI. Cannot be shared with people outside the organization easily. Cannot set security levels for users to access projects based on the rights granted to them. Trello and Asana - Expensive subscription plan. Limited …
Zoho Projects is far superior as a project management tool compared to the simple ones we investigated. The pricing was very competitive to the market and the free trial helped out with our proof of concept. Compared to Workfront, you get similar functionality but at a …
We were testing out ASANA at the time we moved on to Zoho. Zoho seemed to have more features that met our needs. Asana was not quite developed to the point of our liking. Zoho has an awesome calendar function that I loved, which Asana did not.
Zoho Projects provides a more limited set of functionality and customization options than other task/bug trackers on the market, but what it lacks in functionality it makes up for in ease of use. It probably has 80-90% of the features of its competitors but takes about a third …
I used Zoho projects initially because it was easy to setup and gets going for FREE. The best thing you can get out of Zoho projects is that it needs zero setup time. It is also a great tool for manage projects, however not that suitable for product management, I believe. Jira …
I have tried other task management products before I signed up for Zoho. The primary difference is Zoho projects goes beyond tasking. And the second factor is the operational mechanism you have behind it. If your operational framework is right, Zoho project will be the single …
We haven't used any other PM type projects so I can't say how Zoho Projects is vs some others but we've always had lists of things to do on ruled pads and white boards and while it functioned, using Zoho Projects significantly made a huge difference to our entire team. Plus, if …
SmartSheet is less user-friendly and more like a spreadsheet tool. Community Building (in the case of SmartSheet) is not encouraged within a millennial staffed company.
The interface of Zoho Projects is so clean and modern compared to the others. The functions and abilities of this product outshone it competitors and the price is very reasonable and competitive. Finding and adding information in Zoho Projects is very easy even for a novice. …

Professional Services Automation
Comparison of Professional Services Automation features of Product A and Product B
It provides a complete real-time solution on the go, if possible. Complete with all the features. I would definitely recommend this to other businesses to have in their ecosystem for a complete understanding of cloud-based digitization of business operations. Best choice for transforming the cloud-based organization into digital transformation.
Viewpoint Spectrum would be fine for small to medium-sized companies. It would be great for transitioning from an in-house paper-based process, especially since it's designed with small construction companies in mind. They're making it even easier for smaller companies by offering additional features that you'd normally have to find in other products. However, companies can easily outgrow this system. We have about 15 years of data in the system, over 300 active jobs, and nearly 1,500 employees. In the past 3 years we've noticed slower performance and frequent locks in the system that require intervention from a system administrator. We moved to the cloud about 2 years ago and this has made troubleshooting even more difficult as we don't have the same access that we did before to resolve performance issues.
My work involves projects of 5-15 people with numerous projects running simultaneously. Prior to Zoho, I did not have a central location from which to view all project statuses at once. Zoho looks to provide this and also looks like it will deliver. I am anxious to see how our organization's use of it develops. At this time, I feel I am likely to recommend Zoho Projects because my organization has made great software decisions in the past so I have a level of trust already that the research has been done that Zoho is the best solution for our line of work.
Swiss Army Knife: The suite of Zoho projects can be tailored to fit the needs of any business. It's great to have a bunch of different software offerings that will work together seamlessly.
Task Customization: Zoho allows you to customize your tasks more than other platforms (add start dates, due dates, dependencies, subtasks...)
The biggest drawback I have been facing while using the platform is that there must be no compromise on security. There is a need for a few changes in security and data control which helps businesses to trust Ramco ERP more.
Data migration is a bit of hard work along with the reports that are not giving expected results, which need improvements.
Subcontract Kiosk can be glitchy - allows subs to overbill on subcontract billing items
Document Imaging can be glitchy - often says users do not have adequate security to view/add documents, but they do - if they sign out and back in, it works fine
At times, support can be lacking - sometimes case responses are delayed or you get an incorrect answer
More flexibility on making the user interface more compact (like Excel or MSP). Current interface is well spaced, but some users may like a more compact view.
More simplified Gantt Charts that help us understand progress and dependencies.
Ability to export projects to Excel for sharing with others we can't/don't want to bring on to Zoho projects
Zoho has been able to fit the needs of our Engineering organization. The employees and management that are using it have not found a 'catastrophic' reason to discontinue use. Although certain features and better support mechanisms would be much better, it has been able to keep with both basic needs and more advanced ones. A majority of the company has enjoyed the basic interface it offers, the apps it has for iPhone and Blackberry, the mobility of updating a project without needing to be connected to any type of server. There are still improvements that can be made in future releases but as the person who originally purchased the solution for our company, I have found it to be an excellently priced solution in the functionality it offers.
I have been using this software for some time where I have changed my organization setup with the help of Ramco ERP and it leads to being the best choice, as it has all the features that are needed to be the best. All the processes are very streamlined, easy to use, and the real-time inventory stock update is amazing.
Some things in Spectrum are NOT that intuitive, but I think knowledge of the software just comes with time. There are still some things I need assistance with in Spectrum but I'm very comfortable with my day to day items now that I've been using it for years. However, if there is something I don't do often or haven't done before, I don't find the software to be that intuitive, I actually find the logic on some things to be a little weird but it's fine once I know how to do it.
Zoho Projects is an easy project management tool to use. It provides all the functionality that we required for handling projects. We can easily create personal forms for projects and tasks, allowing us to add and report on our own desire. Apart from this we can create and edit documents in real time which saves our time. This allows us to share text docs, presentations, tables with the whole team and we can work on them together
For the most part the product is very reliable. Since we are hosted we sometimes have connectivity issues but I would say that is more our ISP than Spectrum.
The support team is best in their respective tasks. They are very supportive and responsive to the messages, listen to the problem carefully, and provide a solution on the go. If it is not possible, they will respond after time with the workable solution.
The support has recently changed. Last year, you could call in and get an immediate response. Now that doesn't seem possible unless you have an urgent situation with access to the software, payroll or payables. I have found that using chat or e-mail works nicely for the most part, but sometimes I feel it would be easier if someone from support would jump on our site and take a first-hand look rather than going back and forth
Although it might lack intuitiveness, once you get a hang of how Zoho Projects works, you can do a LOT. The impact good project management has on profitability is huge, and it has helped not only improve communication and coordination when working on a project, but more importantly have adequate tracking of time, due dates and potential bottle necks
Our trainer was excellent and navigated the time zone differences expertly. She gave us test assignments to complete and was available for questions at any time.
Spectrum, when compared to Simply accounting, is better. It has more options, and it is easy to navigate. Spectrum meets our needs better. Spectrum, when compared to Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, is better. Spectrum has better connectivity between its project management system compared to Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate. Spectrum, when compared to CMIC, I believe they are equal. CMiC has a better project management system, but Spectrum has an easier accounting system to navigate.
Zoho Projects provides a more limited set of functionality and customization options than other task/bug trackers on the market, but what it lacks in functionality it makes up for in ease of use. It probably has 80-90% of the features of its competitors but takes about a third of the time to get up and running and realizing value.
You can grant user specific access which is nice. Project managers do not need all the same modules as Accounting. But Accounting does need access to PM modules as well
Viewpoint Spectrum has allowed us the opportunity to be proactive in analyzing the costs for a project in time to make a difference in the outcome of the project. It has allowed us defense in supporting our communications with the project owners.
Viewpoint Spectrum has allowed us to become more productive with its accounting software and the cohesion between the modules. It has definitely streamlined the processing necessary to account for the business.
Unfortunately, prior to creating Project Task Templates we'd occasionally miss a step and something that was necessary would be overlooked.
The creation of the Project Templates was a team collaborative effort to make sure that everyone had some input as different people was integral to specific projects.
It took a little while to learn some of the more tricked out features like task dependency but even starting out with the most basic of features was very significant.
