Instances for our clients are hosted on Azure. For our engineers that require access to Azure, I provide the necessary IT assistance. I am in charge of the configuration, access controls, and account locking. The infrastructure and instances under Azure are managed by our engineering staff. If your clientele does business with Microsoft or Azure, this is an indispensable tool.
  • Possessing a number of different settings.
  • Making multiple teams.
  • Reduced difficulty in writing programs.
  • The user interface, in my opinion, might need further clarification.
  • Any situation where a user's password has to be reset would benefit from this feature.
  • Any accounts that were accidentally established more than once may be transferred over quickly and easily.
To better serve their consumers, businesses that often interact with those clients who rely on Microsoft's software products may consider migrating to Azure. This program would be useful in any installation of a Microsoft product or suite that necessitates a test of the target environment. It is simple to maintain and implement, making it an ideal IT backbone. If a client doesn't have any use for this particular instrument, it's not going to be of any benefit to them.
  • After initial setup, we now have significantly less time spent processing data.
  • The automation of data formatting and display after processing is exciting because it frees us to focus on the data itself.
  • Since using Batch, we have significantly decreased the number of items we previously utilized.
Both are excellent resources that successfully deliver the promised benefits. Two rival businesses, each with its own distinct culture and set of goals. As far as IT assistance goes, I find Azure's user interface to be slightly more intuitive. Both resources are valuable and have their advantages and disadvantages. Both are crucial if you run a fast-paced business with a large consumer base.

We use Azure Batch in order to compare our measurements with the measurement of other labs, organizations and farms.
It allows us to carry out analysis on all the separate data sets independently and then combine it all afterwards. We are also working on having it take the next step to visualize the data and then share it automatically.
  • Ease of scripting
  • Scheduling
  • Combination of Data Sets
  • It would be great to see it head right into the visualizations, but, of course, that requires, for us, a separate set of steps anyway
  • Some data preparation is necessary prior to computing and that can be klunky
  • More GUI
It is well suited for computing against various data sets that may be similar in content but contained in different arrays and combinations.
It is well suited for scheduling the computing time.
It is well suited for working with teams of programmers or analysts at different locations.

It is less appropriate when the data sets have not been normalized beforehand - but this is more of a staging issue rather than anything about the software.
  • After setting things up we have reduced time in running all of the processing
  • It is promising in allowing us to concentrate on the data rather than the formatting and presentation that can all be automated after it has been processed
  • We have reduced the number of products we used before adopting Batch
Azure Batch proved superior for ease of use and cost.

We selected Azure Batch because it was an extension for skills we already had in house.
Azure Batch allowed us to work with our already existing tools and we were able to take advantage of various elements of those tools that heretofore we were unable to do.

We use Azure to run instances for our customers. I'm the IT support side of Azure for our engineers who need access. I deal with the setup, permissions, and account lockouts. Our Engineering team handles the environment setup and instances within the Azure access area. It's definitely an essential tool if you have customers that deal with MS and Azure.
  • Managing the users
  • Having multiple environments
  • Creating multiple groups
  • The UI could be a little more clearer in my opinion.
  • Password resets would be nice to have in any instance (not just the default area).
  • Easier to migrate repeated account that may have been created.
Azure is specifically suited for businesses that work with customers that need to work with Microsoft software products. Any instances of Microsoft products or suites that require an environment test to set up would definitely benefit from this tool. As an IT support, it is relatively easy to support and use. Where this tool is not useful if a customer has no need for it.
  • I can only assume there is a return as the company has been using it for a number of years.
  • Like anything else, there has been a cost inflation to the tool.
  • If you have no use for the tool then it is a waste of money.
They both are great tools and provide the services they have implemented. They are two competing companies that have different cultures and forward mission agendas. I would say Azure is a little easier to support through their user interface for the IT support side of things. Both tools are useful and have their own strength and weakness. If you're a dynamic company with a multitude of customers then both are a required tool to have.
