Klipfolio is that Single Point of Truth for all your Digital Dashboard Needs

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have used Klipfolio as a single point of truth for aggregating our client data from multiple platforms and centralizing. Klipfolio enables us to create our own customized digital dashboards so that we can get a live 360º view of our digital marketing efforts in real-time. With so many integrations these days it is more important than ever that we are able to minimize the manual efforts in data collection, analysis, and reporting. No other platform we have tried has been able to provide us with such as much of a comprehensive understanding of how well our efforts are working so we know where, when, and how to consider our next dollar spent on marketing.

Pros

  • Klipfolio provides intuitive set up and integrations.
  • Klipfolio is the best version of a "low-code / no-code" approach to dashboard creation.
  • Klipfolio enables us to design comprehensive reports that make monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting a breeze.
  • Klipfolio has provided us with access to a data aggregation platform that does everything we need for the business solutions that we offer our clients and doesn't break the bank to do so.

Cons

  • While Klipfolio covers so many of the bases, one area where I would like to see expansion would be offering additional design and graphics themes for even more customization.
  • Klipfolio has an extensive offering but might be even better if there were a way that we could integrate with some small to mid-sized CRM solutions for audience list segmentation and marketing integrations.
  • It would be interesting if Klipfolio could enable us to overlay the data learnings for cross-referencing of multiple client campaigns for comparative insights.

Return on Investment

  • Klipfolio not only delivers great-looking dashboards, but it makes our agency look awesome to our clients!
  • Klipfolio is one of the few platforms that we have implemented where the minimal investment has consistently provided maximum results in the return on our investment.
  • Not only had Klipfolio proven to be a fiscally smart - money-saving - move, but has also proven to be a great time saver as well.
  • Thanks to Klipfolio we spend less time having to pull data and have more time to analyze and strategize for our reporting and recommendations to our clients.

Usability

Make complex data easy to understand and visualize

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Klipfolio for creating visual metrics for presentations and visualizations for sales consulting. We often use the program to show off number-heavy and dry data in more colorful and interesting presentations. Coworkers and clients are both captivated with the graphics and it is easier to keep their attention. Large numbers can often get lost and the visuals help a ton to understand the scale of things.

Pros

  • Visuals
  • Easy to use
  • Intuitive setup
  • Easy to use, hard to master

Cons

  • I think the UI is well done but organizing the tabs and settings could help
  • Importing additional types of data would save a ton of time. The click-and-drag function is the best.
  • Display more than one line or bar on the same chart

Return on Investment

  • More interesting report meetings
  • Low time allocated to presentation

Usability

Klippfolio, Dashboard and Reporting Platform.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used Klipfolio while I was exploring a reporting platform for my freelance service. I used it for reporting back to clients on their website traffic and PPC and Social Media Marketing performance on a live dashboard that they could access at any time they needed the information or insight.

Pros

  • Importing data from various sources.
  • Reporting dashboard.
  • Custom metrics.

Cons

  • Trial features.

Return on Investment

  • Unfortunately, I only used the trial version of Klipfolio and later moved on to DataStudio due to financial constraints.

Usability

Really great lightweight BI tool! It packs a real functionality punch for such an easy-to-use platform!

Pros

  • Dashboard design. Super simple and easy to set up, move and size components, and display.
  • Klip creation. This is report/chart creation. Klipfolio straddles the line well between ease-of-use and robust capability for data crunching and visualization.
  • Data sync. I have had very few data sync issues. The sync just works and it is very light-weight on API calls.
  • Multiple data source formats. You can make data sources in JSON, Summarized View, and Detailed View.
  • Modeled data sources. You can create modeled versions of any data source, which allows you to lock in data formats, add columns (including formula columns), and more.
  • Team permissions. I have been able to set team permission sets and use that to display the given dashboards around the office. With this, I can control who has access to which data.
  • Chart options. There is a great selection of chart types to choose from.
  • Great support. Their support staff has always been very responsive—almost always immediate. I have always been able to resolve my issues with them.

Cons

  • I wish there was an option to display timelined data in a quarterly increment. I can daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, but not quarterly.
  • The data filtering options are often lacking. I almost always have to make sure to filter my data in the sourced CRM report before I create the data source, rather than adding the filters afterward in Klipfolio. I'm sure I could remedy this if I were better at JSON.
  • I've found that you can report on just about anything if you're able to manipulate the JSON report. I wish there were more templated reports and charts, especially for Marketo, social platforms, and Google Analytics.
  • I wish you could display more than one line or bar on the same chart. For example, I'd like to display last quarter's conversion stats on top of this quarter's stats to show a comparison in the same line chart. But I haven't found a good way of doing that yet.
  • I really love using the mobile app, but on IOS it gets funky when you switch between portrait and landscape. Maybe it is an issue with the notched design on iPhone X and beyond. The hamburger menu spacing gets messed up when you start in portrait, switch to landscape to view better, then back to portrait--it ends up being right over the time display and you can't tap on it.
  • Sharing is clunky. I really like that I can password protect shared dashboards, but I wish it was easier to share/send links to dashboards internally with the team when strict privacy is not needed.
  • I like the dark theme, but wish it didn't display all the chart colors in the negative. It's really weird to have to make sure all the chart colors are the lightest in order to display the darkest when on dark theme. I wish the theme just changed the background color instead of inverting all the colors.
