Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use PerformYard as a tool to keep our employees in close contact with their managers regarding personal and company-wide goals. Given this, we usually meet in person twice a year however, PerformYard has given us the ability to save our thoughts, concerns, and goals in one place that we can access all throughout the year. The days of paper pushing and trying to remember what we accomplished in a six month period, have ended! It has kept our company more organized and we are able to go back to previous reviews to remind us what we need to work on.

Pros

  • We are able to put in goals and objectives to stay organized.
  • We are able to pull up previous goals and reviews to see if we are still on track or falling behind.
  • It provides a safe platform for personal questions, goal aspirations, or concerns with your manager if you are not able to find time to sit down in person.

Cons

  • Our company had a hard time transitioning from the old paper path (via MS office). Maybe a more thorough training would have helped everyone transition easier.
  • For some of my colleagues goals, they stated that they needed to retype the same information in multiple steps which made their goals take much longer than normal.
  • Making the dashboard a little more user friendly (e.g. larger icons, pictures, etc.) for easier navigation would be handy for a lot of my colleagues, as they are older and aren't as computer savvy.

Return on Investment

  • I think overall, the ROI is positive because it is saving a lot of time for managers with several employees. It cut down our review time to half compared to our old process.
  • Negatively, it has caused our employees to spend a lot more time trying to adjust to the layout, therefore causing them to spend more time on the platform compared to the old way. This should improve over time.
  • We have had better archiving for our reviews and goals which is engaging the managers more with their employees.

PerformYard is used to set goals for projects and personal milestones for each employee. as their is progression made, we update the PerformYard so at anytime we can check the status and the progress being made by each employee. it works very well to maintain deadlines and ensure everyone is staying on task

  • Everything else is awsome

We use the Performance Review and Goals options with PerformYard. We have quarterly reviews on all employees. PerformYard makes it extremely easy to not only schedule reviews, design reviews with your own questions, but calculate review scores when reviews are complete.

Our company adopted PerformYard to solve the long standing problem of inefficiency with Performance Management. Our old process was a manual paper process that presented several problems but the main being: Bottleneck of routing for the paper reviews, and the cumbersome process to track reviews and execute them to the authors.

Pros

  • Customer Service! The service support is unmatched compared to other vendors! Our rep is nothing short of amazing with her timeliness, helpfulness, and ability to navigate the issues we encounter!
  • Streamlining automated reviews - Effortlessly send out a whole years reviews in one sitting!
  • Auto updating from our HRIS system - Automated SFTP integration with our HRIS system to auto update employee fields and keep the system up to date with less manual process!

Cons

  • I would like to see there be more functionality and customization with groups and review assignments
  • Reports are a bit hard to get at first, more easy on demand reports would be helpful

Return on Investment

  • PerformYard has had a positive impact on our business objectives as we can allocate more time to other items that we used to spend on Performance Management with that being automated and electronic
  • HR is able to have more productive conversations with managers about performance management without having to worry about discussing the process of it (routing, issues etc.) Our conversations with management are now geared towards how can they improve their performance management of their employees and how they can give better feedback
