Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 Work

We use 8x8 in our organisation to have our phone set up in the main office. They differ from traditional lines as they allow licences on users to be used for calling rates and also allow features such as ring groups, integration with teams and calling from your PC

Pros

  • call queues
  • ring groups
  • auto attendants
  • group pick ups

Cons

  • licencing cant be easilly managed, you have to call you account manager to add more
  • Saved money or services like airlandline
  • reduced missed calls which could turn into potential leads
  • allows a landline number to be used as the office number, yet you can be anywhere
The admin panel is great and so is the support, the only reason I am dropping 2 stars is amending the number of users / licences is an email to support staff or a ticket which is not ideal in todays SaaS world
Selected 8x8 due to its reasonable pricing and additional VOIP features ticked our requirements

  • Ability to have a UK number, even when not in the UK (offshore support)
  • Ability to ring mutliple users on a number
  • Ability to pick up calls from other numbers
  • Ability to review call logs
  • Ability to use a physical phone as well as mobiles and PC's
  • Ring Groups
  • Auto Assistant
  • Receptionist greetings
  • SMS
  • Screening
  • CRM integration
It works and therefore we have no reason to change it

Evaluating 8x8 Work and Competitors

Yes - airlandline - we were using several individual numebrs but these are simply forwarded to a single number and did not contain additional VOIP features

the only negative is the way you have to add or remove licences, but its not a deal breaker

8x8 Work Implementation

It was delivered in a timely manner and when issue arrose they were sorted promptly, can highly recommend this as easy to implement
Change management was minimal - It would have been beneficial to map all users and their requirements before setting up 8x8 as additional features were implemented afterwards which could have been done in the initial implementation

8x8 Work Reliability

The only issue was adding licences was not via a button click but through your account admin which seems bad practice in a SaaS world as the user should be able to sign up, amend and close their account with ease

Integrating 8x8 Work

All integration went fine apart from Teams which needed 8x8 support

Could not achieve on our own, 8x8 had to fix it at their end
As the support is excellent dont worry about integrations, try them and if required support will get you across the line

Relationship with 8x8 Inc.

They were never pushy, just gave us the fact and we chose them on their price and functionality
They were always reachable and supported when needed
Did not negotiate, happy with price
