Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Analytics

We just switched from GA to Adobe Analytics, and it's been a painful but cautiously optimistic endeavor. One of the problems we expected to stop encountering was bot traffic, but not-so-much. We are struggling with knowledge right now, and unfortunately when we reach out to Adobe we are treated like we don't know what we are doing (we don't!), but we also don't get direction as far as what we should be doing. On the reverse side of the coin, I am now getting Merchandising analytics like I've never had before using eVars, and the eVars appear to be tracking fine, it's the visits, page views and exits that seem to be volatile. I suspect we might have been led astray with our solution design, which was painfully NOT updated after it had been completed years ago, and our site looks very different now than it did then. Work in progress, we will NOT be throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Pros

  • eVars (love, wish there was more but I heard they are unlimited in AJA)
  • Projects. The transition from Reports to Projects was easier for me to navigate than I thought it was going to be.
  • Adobe Templates. Again with the love. Nothing helps me more than copying a template and then deconstructing it to see how it works and reconstruct to how I want it to be.

Cons

  • Support. I mentioned this earlier and we don't know what we don't know. Researching the massive amounts of documentation isn't realistic with bandwidth constraints, and our rep getting frustrated with us when we go through what we are seeing is disappointing.
  • Education. More please, and designed more towards the "business side". I get with the many many many different implementations (every company is different!), that it's tough, but even a basic of the basics would be nice for situations that everyone is looking at, like the engagement with the merchandising on the home page (or any certain page).
  • We are still in the implementation phase, since July 2024. But we have optimistic plans that Adobe Analytics will assist us with optimization and personalization. (or AJA)
Because I know it will get better. I have confidence in Adobe.
The How is using the Projects to create dashboards to monitor Merchandising performance and the Why is so I have data to make key decisions on what to present to members.
I don't know what I don't know and I struggle to get answers. Time and education will rectify this.
I've been using Photoshop since before it was Photoshop. Heck, I remember "Page Maker".

Do you think Adobe Analytics delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe Analytics's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Analytics live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Analytics go as expected?

No

Would you buy Adobe Analytics again?

Yes

I see the potential for Adobe Analytics to be very well-suited for industries where they are heavily privacy regulated, like health care, etc. As a BIG proponent of privacy, I would encourage everyone I do business with online to choose Adobe over Google. Google has come right out and said they absolutely 100% will collect and sell data as they see fit, and I'm just not okay with that for Costco Members.
