Overall Satisfaction with Atera

Atera is currently being used as a backup RMM at my company. It was our primary one for a couple of years but we grew out of it. Its pricing scheme of per user and not per asset is what keeps us using it as a redundant RMM. We still use it almost every day.
  • UI
  • Navigation
  • Ease of use
  • Integrations
  • It helps the most when we can't connect our primary RMM
  • It got us on our feet in the beginning as a startup
LabTech is a more comprehensive remote monitoring and management tool but costs considerably more. We switched to Atera from LabTech for a number of reasons. First and foremost, cost. Atera's per user licensing structure is much better suited for startups than LabTech. The UI is also much more modern with Atera. LabTech UI was dated and more old-school looking.
The GUI is something to behold with Atera. The menus are well laid out and site navigation is a breeze. The real-time search is also very useful, as every type of data within an asset is indexed. The left side navigation and tile layout for customers is also very handy.
I would say we haven't used the PSA side of Atera very much. Same with the billing. The reporting is very useful. It's very customizable depending on what you're looking for as well. We use it all the time for customer reports. Even though we use Ninja for our primary RMM, we still use Atera for its robust reporting.
It is well suited for small managed service providers where low cost is a high priority. It has a great user interface and pretty speedy navigation. I wouldn't use it for large-scale managed service providers that need more of a full PSA over a traditional RMM tool.
