Overall Satisfaction with Axcient

We use this as a primary backup appliance. Images and backups are stored local and then have the ability to send to Axcient's cloud for off site storage and safe keeping. Was very easy to install, deploy, and configure. Support and sales have ALWAYS been outstanding, never had a single issue with either of those two with this product.

Solves several issues:
- Quick access to backups kept locally
- Images kept on Axcient's cloud
- DR can be spun up from the Axcient cloud should a disaster occur
- Works with both Windows and Linux VMs (Last I checked it did require a second product to be purchased to support Linux side backups)
- Works with ISCSI attached storage as well as physical or virtual environments - Not all solutions will connect to and back up volumes/ drives attached to operating systems using ISCSI to connect volumes using MPIO for example within Windows.
  • Support is amazing, fast, never had a single issue working with support when needed. (Doesn't happen very often either that I have to contact support)
  • Sales has been amazing as well. Anything I've ever needed I fire off an email and have a response very quickly and am taken care.
  • Deploying inside a VMware environment using Windows based serves was painless and quick
  • Support for direct mapped ISCSI via MPIO within Windows is crucial when backing up performance dependent servers and this does it all
  • Ability to send backups to their cloud is key for DR operations. Support teams will assist with configurations, testing, setup and should a DR occur will be on the phone with you from start to finish.
  • It would be nice for the Windows and Linux options to be integrated into a single product vs having to have two separate purchases
  • Price point is a little on the high side
  • Met our needs for DR requirements both locally and cloud based
  • Am able to use this same solution for both physical and virtual environments
  • Ability to backup and restore to iSCSI was a massive time saver as well as cash saver not having to discover other products for that requirement.
Axcient has the ability to back up both Linux and Windows and the ability to backup iSCSI attached volumes on servers. I have an environment with many servers that have direct attached iSCSI volumes mapped to them direct to the storage arrays. The other solutions do a fine job other than no not supporting the ability to back up those iSCSI volumes. With Axcient, if it's a drive on your server it doesn't care how it's there, just that it's there and needs to be backed up. No additional features, licenses or setup required it just sees a drive and backs it up.
Support is also a massive step above these other two as well as many others I've used, sold and evaluated over the past fifteen years doing this line of work. Axcient can send me an email alert that I can then forward to their support and before I get back to the office it's fixed with detailed explanation sent back as to who, what, why something happened and how it was fixed. Doesn't matter if the error's during or after normal operating hours with them.
If you have a mostly Windows environment (virtual or physical doesn't matter) and need the ability to vault those backups off site, this is the product for you hands down.

It does support Linux however; it's covered under another product r license separate from the Windows side.
DR provides the ability to spin up your backups or system images online for quick and easy access.

If you have servers using direct attached iSCSI volumes and need them backed up, this product will provide that ability. Many others still can't backup a volume if its attached via iSCSI.
