Built on a very fast and reliable checkout and product manager. It allows for bespoke customization whether through headless e-commerce, web development or DIY via plugins such as Shogun page builders.

BigCommerce Customization

BigCommerce APIs allowed for in-house on-time connection to our ERP and in-store POS. It's open graph Facebook connectors allows us to feed our entire product catalog into Facebook for automated acquisition and retargeting marketing on Facebook and Instagram. Connectors to Google merchant center allows us to do the same with Google ads.

Shopify Plus, Magento Commerce, part of Adobe Commerce Cloud and Squarespace

I have managed to build 2 large websites on BigCommerce and it is fast and reliable. Have managed builds on Magento as well as small website projects on Wix, GoDaddy and Shopify and they all have their pros and cons. This is an ever-changing space and it really comes down to what you want to achieve and finding the best partners to achieve it.

Likelihood to Recommend

BigCommerce strengths are: it checkout and very fast APIs, extremely easy to connect Google analytics and ads, Facebook Pixel and ads as well as leading email platforms. The critical missing piece at the moment is multi-inventory, however, this is nearing beta so it may be resolved soon. Recommended for medium to large businesses.
